Mercedes-Benz has announced that the EQG will be equipped with the latest technologies and has off-road capabilities that are no less than the “big brother” G-Class.
In a post published on X (Twitter), Mercedes-Benz has released the first images of the EQG and stated that this SUV model “will be launched soon”.
The three-pointed star brand still keeps details about the EQG secret, but it claims that this car model will have superior off-road capabilities, which have defined the essence of the G-Class for decades.

In terms of design, the EQG is almost identical to the G-Class, except for the closed grille and square wheel arches. It seems like a safe move by Mercedes-Benz, as the design of the G-Class has always been highly praised and even pioneered the “boxy SUV” trend. Additionally, the EQG is also supplemented with some details to enhance aerodynamics, such as special cast wheels and small air vents in the rear fenders.
From leaked images, the interior of the EQG is also quite similar to its big brother G-Class. Customers can still easily differentiate between the two cars through differences in steering wheel design, gear lever, and the layout of the central control cluster. However, these changes may also appear in the new generation G-Class.

Currently, there is not much information about the EQG’s operating equipment, but Mercedes-Benz confirmed that the car will have four electric motors. The EQG could be the first car model to be equipped with a new silicon battery with higher energy density than conventional lead-acid batteries, which helps improve operational performance.
In addition, the EQG also has a special feature called G-Turn, which allows the car to make a 360-degree rotation in place. This feature will come in handy in situations where maneuvering in tight spaces is necessary.
