On August 15, 2019, in Ho Chi Minh City, PetroVietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) and OTV Media Corporation officially signed an agreement to make the PVOIL brand the official name of the Vietnam Offroad Car Racing 2019 (VOC) competition.

This is the fourth consecutive year PVOIL has been a partner of the Forum Otofun.net and OTV Media Corporation in organizing the Vietnam Offroad Car Racing competition. In order to better support the organization of the competition and contribute to promoting the relatively new sport of offroad racing in Vietnam, PVOIL has decided to associate its brand with this prestigious racing event.

Accordingly, this year’s VOC competition will be officially named “Vietnam Offroad PVOIL Cup 2019” and abbreviated as “PVOIL VOC 2019”. PVOIL and OTV Media Corporation also signed a memorandum of understanding on the competition name for three consecutive years starting from 2019.

PVOIL VOC 2019 originated from the 2008 Golden Steering Wheel competition organized by Otofun.net. This was the first offroad racing event in Vietnam, with only 2 racing teams and 7 athletes participating. In 2010, the competition was officially licensed by the General Department of Physical Training and Sports and renamed as the Vietnam Offroad Driving Skills Competition. This was also the first year that offroad clubs from the southern region of Vietnam participated in the competition.
