Viloran is considered the “specialized ground aircraft” with the largest size of the Volkswagen brand and the MPV segment currently on sale in Vietnam.

According to information from Volkswagen, Viloran may be launched in Vietnam at the end of December. This is considered the model that will “replace” Sharan, which has stopped selling in Vietnam. When it comes to Vietnam, the car will be a formidable competitor in the premium MPV segment.

This car is also positioned as a premium MPV, suitable for businessmen, businesses, and multi-generation families who enjoy traveling.

Currently, Volkswagen Viloran has officially received deposits at some dealerships with an amount of 100 million VND. The car will be launched with 2 versions: Premium and Luxury with the recommended prices of 1,989 and 2,188 billion VND respectively. It is expected that the first commercial batch of cars will be officially handed over in the first quarter of 2024.

Viloran possesses the V-line design style, which is characteristic of Volkswagen. The front of the car stands out with a chrome-plated grille that is eye-catching, harmoniously combined with the large IQ Light headlights and high-recognizable lighting configuration.

The side of the car has a symmetrical and harmonious design with unique 20-inch wheels and an inclined angle at the tail, bringing a luxurious and classy look that is hard to find in any other model.

In terms of interior, the arrangement inside the Viloran cabin is reminiscent of some “siblings” such as Touareg and Teramont.

The second-row seats are upholstered in premium leather with a business-style design. In this row of seats, users have their own armrest, cup holder, phone tray, charging port, storage compartment, and a middle aisle.

In addition, passengers in the second row are equipped with electrically adjustable footrests, capable of adjusting the angle up to 90 degrees. The seats have electric adjustment, maximum reclining angle of 70 degrees; cooling or heating feature; 3 massage modes, and adjustable headrests that hug both sides of the head, creating a comfortable and maximum relaxation sitting and lying position.

Volkswagen equips Viloran with the famous IQ Light technology lighting system that provides maximum support and high aesthetic value. The driver will feel confident when driving at night thanks to optimal lighting, which does not dazzle the oncoming driver; confident when overtaking or driving at high speeds; and easy to find the car in the parking lot or return home.

This is also an intelligent adaptive LED lighting system with a range of advanced lighting support functions including: auto on/off function; active adjustment of the illumination area; and welcome lights and adaptive front lighting system, including: Extended cornering light function, active cornering light adjustment function, automatic light height adjustment function, lighting for all weather conditions.

Viloran is developed based on the MQB chassis system with a steel proportion capable of bearing a load of 77%. The car frame is soundproofed, not noisy at high speeds (APVB soundproof glass 4.96mm) to bring comfortable rest for passengers on long journeys.

It is not clear what engine will be equipped when it comes to Vietnam, it is only known that the engine will come with a new-generation 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission, providing optimal torque transmission capability, helping the car to shift smoothly. Passengers will be satisfied with the comfort, smoothness, and enhanced power transmission capability when climbing, carrying loads, and accelerating.

The car is also equipped with many advanced safety features that provide maximum support for the driver such as:

Adaptive cruise control (ACC + Stop & Go feature)

The system will automatically maintain the speed set by the driver. At the same time, when a vehicle appears in front, the system will automatically adjust the speed and maintain the set distance with the vehicle moving in front to bring comfort to the driver, especially when driving long distances.

The system will automatically brake or accelerate the car to maintain the distance with the vehicle in front; Use radar waves to scan traffic conditions ahead; Activate at speeds between 30-210 km/h.

The vehicle’s deceleration can occur through intervention in the engine control system. If the deceleration process through the engine torque is not effective, the braking system will operate and brake until the car stops completely if necessary. ACC can be reactivated by pressing the accelerator pedal.

With the Stop & Go feature, this allows the car to automatically brake until it stops if the vehicle in front is stationary. If the vehicle in front starts moving again, the system will react and automatically accelerate.

Forward collision warning (FCW) and emergency brake assist (AEB)

The system will detect vehicles, pedestrians in front through radar and cameras; Give audible and visual warnings to the driver about the increasing risk of collision; Automatically apply light braking force (pre-braking) to remind of increasing collision risk; Automatically apply emergency braking to avoid collision through multiple phases with gradually increasing braking force.

The system can operate (if activated) even when ACC is not activated.

Lane change assist

The rear radar sensors will monitor the area behind the car. The system will measure the distance and speed difference of the vehicles to provide warnings through images on the rearview mirror. The system can be activated from a speed of about 15km/h.

Park assist

The system uses ultrasonic waves to detect obstacles in front and behind the car and warns the driver with color lines on the screen and sound.

If the driver does not react, the parking assistance braking function (if equipped) will be activated to prevent the car from colliding with obstacles.

The system will support by automatically steering the wheel to park the car (parallel or perpendicular) and move the car out of the parallel parking space. The driver still has to control the accelerator, brake, and gear according to the instructions on the screen.

The driver will be more confident in maneuvering and parking in narrow conditions. At the same time, the driver will be satisfied because they can avoid obstacles and be more reassured because there is an automatic braking system intervening in the maneuvering, parking, or exiting process.
