This is the low-end version below the RZ 450e, so Lexus does not equip all-wheel drive with dual motors, only using a single electric motor located at the front axle. This motor produces 201 horsepower and maximum torque of 266 Nm.
This power train is powered by a 71.4 kWh battery pack, allowing the car to travel a maximum range of 599 km according to the WLTC standard. However, this number may only apply to Lexus RZ 300e models with 18-inch wheels. If the size is increased to 20 inches, the maximum range will decrease significantly.
Besides the new powertrain, the crossover is also equipped with a refined suspension system. Springs, stabilizers, and shocks are optimized. Lexus said these changes ensure that the electric vehicle will provide comfort for the occupants. The 300e version weighs 100 kg lighter than the 450e version.
In Japan, the Lexus RZ 300e will have a starting price from 8,200,000 Yen (equivalent to 1.3 billion VND). This price is 600,000 Yen (~ 95 million VND) cheaper than the RZ 450e.
In another news, Lexus announced that both versions of the RZ will be equipped with a fast-charging battery heating system. It is designed to accelerate the energy charging process when the outside temperature is cold, reducing battery efficiency.
Lexus also announced plans to launch the RZ in 9 new countries and regions, including Central and South America. This effort, as well as the introduction of the standard RZ 300e, will help Lexus accelerate the transition to a BEV-focused brand (Battery Electric Vehicles).
The Lexus RZ is the first electric vehicle from the Japanese luxury brand, launched in April 2022 with the RZ 450e version. The electric crossover model is developed based on Toyota’s e-TNGA platform, with a similarity ratio to the Toyota bZ4x and Subaru Solterra. In the US, the RZ 450e is priced from $59,650 (~ 1.4 billion VND).
