Recently, YouTuber named Revokid Vlogs uploaded a video about a Toyota Fortuner equipped with a portable toilet inside the interior and attracted a lot of attention from the online community.
The toilet area is located in the position of the 3rd row seat with one side of the seat removed, while the other side is kept intact. The separate toilet bowl is designed by Ojes Automobiles, an Indian company specializing in motorhomes.The modification workshop has added a partition wall and a door to separate the toilet from the cabin of the Toyota Fortuner.
This toilet cabin is quite small, just enough to accommodate one person and the person has to lower their height to avoid hitting the ceiling of the car. Inside this “battlefield” toilet, there is a toilet bowl and a bidet. To provide water for the toilet, a specialized water tank for mobile homes is installed under the Fortuner floor. To enter this toilet, passengers need to fold the middle seat row and step inside, similar to getting in/out of the 3rd row seats.
Revokid Vlogs mentioned that the portable toilet on the Fortuner can be used even when the car is moving, although he does not encourage this because everything can go wrong in case of sudden braking. One interesting thing is that the car is still equipped with seat belts next to the seat in the toilet. The cost of installing a toilet for Toyota Fortuner was not disclosed by the YouTube channel owner.
According to the report by Cartoq, equipping a toilet on cars is becoming popular in India after the Covid-19 pandemic, especially for people who intend to travel long distances. This solution is quite useful for taxi drivers, who have difficulty finding clean and safe toilets while on the move.
