Following a series of safety test cheating scandals on the Toyota Vios, Toyota Group announced that the next model to be discontinued in Japan is the Toyota Raize hybrid and the Daihatsu Rocky for violating the UN R135 tests.
According to regulations, Daihatsu had to conduct a crash test on both sides of the vehicle at a 75-degree angle using a cylindrical object with a speed of 32 km/h. However, the company only performed the test on the left rear side of the vehicle.

This cheating scandal affects nearly 80,000 vehicles, including 22,329 units of the Daihatsu Rocky HEV and 56,111 units of the Toyota Raize HEV. Until now, the company has not confirmed whether the gasoline-powered engine versions are affected or not.
The Toyota Raize model distributed in the Vietnamese market is still equipped with a turbocharged gasoline engine, so it may not be affected by this cheating scandal.
