The Rolls-Royce Cullinan facelift was recently caught by street photographers during a test drive. This could possibly be an update in the model’s lifecycle, after the luxury SUV equipped with a V12 engine was first introduced in 2018 and before Rolls-Royce becomes a brand that only sells electric cars in the early 2030s.
The exterior of the car is not completely covered like other test models, revealing the new Cullinan’s cherry red paint. The front of the car remains familiar with the distinctive lighting cluster of the predecessor, but with a smaller size of the Pantheon grille. Like the new Phantom, the Cullinan facelift will likely feature a light-up grille.
The front bumper has done away with the simple air vent and chrome trim, replaced by angular air vents with a sporty feel and black inner divider.
The 2024 Rolls-Royce Cullinan retains the same overall design as the previous model, but customers will likely have the option of new wheel designs. Similarly, the rear of the car only has slight adjustments with a larger exhaust tip and larger chrome trim. At least, this detail shows that the British luxury car brand will still be using an internal combustion engine on this model for the next few years.
The exterior changes are not very impressive, so wealthy individuals should not expect any changes to the twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V12 engine under the hood of the updated Cullinan. Currently, this engine produces 563 horsepower in the standard version or 591 horsepower in the sportier Black Badge version. It is highly likely that this will be the last Rolls-Royce SUV with an internal combustion engine, as the next generation will switch to a fully electric powertrain.
Rolls-Royce is known for keeping secrets and not revealing the release dates of its new models. The Phantom VIII was introduced in 2017 and received an update in 2023, so it is possible that the Cullinan, which was first released in 2018, will soon announce a mid-cycle update in 2024 or 2025.
In Vietnam, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is the most popular model among the brand’s lineup. To date, there are no less than 30 units of this SUV in the country, with various different versions, from the Black Badge to the expensive Mansory custom edition. The after-tax prices of this SUV range from 32 to 40 billion VND (approximately $1.4 to $1.8 million) depending on the import unit and additional equipment.
