Mitsubishi continues to reveal more details about the next-generation Triton’s drivetrain and chassis. According to the Japanese automaker, the pickup will be developed on a newly-developed separate ladder frame. Mitsubishi didn’t go into specific details but only revealed that the new frame will provide safe, sturdy, and comfortable driving in all weather and road conditions. In addition, the suspension system of the vehicle has also been upgraded for a more comfortable ride for passengers.

Some sources suggest that the new turbo-diesel engine is an improved version of the current 4N15 2.4L engine used in the Montero Sport and Triton. It could also possibly be the 4N16 2.4L engine that is currently equipped in the Nissan Urvan in Japan, but it will be refined to produce more horsepower and torque.
