In 2023, both the CVO Road Glide and CVO Street Glide motorcycles have been significantly updated and improved with new technology, modified designs for increased comfort for both the rider and passenger, as well as new power from the improved Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine.
In terms of design, the Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide 2023 models are equipped with integrated windshields that feature a ventilation system and distinctive LED lights with turn signals. Notable design improvements include a sleeker front fender, a 6-gallon fuel tank with side contours and additional saddlebags, and a three-dimensional fuel tank shape.
In addition, the motorcycles have new Combo Cast Laced wheels and each model will have two different finishing options, allowing owners to personalize their beloved bikes. The dry weight of the Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide 2023 has been significantly reduced, with the CVO Street Glide reducing by 14 kg and the CVO Road Glide reducing by 16 kg compared to previous models.
The front and rear SHOWA suspension systems have been adjusted to improve rider comfort, with the rear suspension travel being increased by 50%. The motorcycles are equipped with premium Brembo brakes.
In terms of technology, the new CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide models feature different ride modes: Road, Sport, and Rain. The motorcycles also come with an anti-lock braking system (C-ABS) and cornering traction control system (C-TCS).
Additionally, the two models are equipped with a completely new infotainment system supported by Skyline OS. The 12.3-inch color TFT touchscreen provides riders with customizable display options across three different view modes. The infotainment system is compatible with both Apple and Android devices and features integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for wireless headset connection.
The most notable feature of these new CVO models is the introduction of a larger displacement engine, the Milwaukee Eight 121 VVT (1,977cc), with a traditional V-Twin 45-degree design. This is the first time the Milwaukee-Eight engine has been equipped with a Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system to increase high-end performance.
The Milwaukee Eight 121 VVT engine is designed with a bore x stroke of 103.5 mm x 117.5 mm and a compression ratio of 11.4:1. As a result, it produces 115 horsepower at 5,020 rpm and a torque of 183 Nm at 3,500 rpm.
Compared to the CVO 117 models in 2022 (106 horsepower and 170 Nm), these specifications are just part of the upgrade, as the new VVT system also helps clean exhaust emissions while increasing torque in the most important rpm range.
Along with the VVT system upgrade, the new cylinder heads have modified cooling systems, focusing on keeping the exhaust valves cooler. Both new-generation CVO models now have intake doors, a modified airbox, and larger-diameter exhaust pipes. The aluminum intake pipes feature improved flow characteristics and a more direct path from the airbox to the intake valves.
