The Chief Financial Officer of Stellantis, Natalie Knight, recently revealed that the next-generation Peugeot 5008 will be launched in August next year and will have a fully electric version.
We have known about the next-generation 5008 since the beginning of this year when Peugeot confirmed that an electric version was under development. Then, in August, spy photographers captured a prototype of the new 5008 in the form of a combustion engine version. In September, we were able to see a prototype of the electric car model.

Similar to the smaller 3008 model, the new generation 5008 will be developed on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, which supports the use of electric motors and enables the car to travel up to 700 km.
According to Natalie Knight, the launch event for the 5008 model in 2024 marks one of the important electric car launches in Europe for the Stellantis group.
The new Peugeot 5008 is expected to follow a design philosophy similar to the latest 3008, although it will resemble a more traditional SUV rather than a coupe SUV. We hope that the front of the 5008 will use LED headlights and daytime running lights similar to the 3008, and it may have a more intricate grille layout.

Details about the powertrain have not been confirmed yet, but we know that the new 5008 will be offered as a hybrid and an electric car. The hybrid version will be a combination of the 1.2L PureTech 48-volt petrol engine that Peugeot introduced earlier this year on the 3008 and 5008 models. This new engine is equipped with turbocharging technology and an additional electric motor with a power of 28 horsepower and a torque of 55 Nm, resulting in a combined power of 134 horsepower and a torque of 230 Nm.
The electric versions could use a similar drivetrain to the E-3008, with a 73 kWh and 98 kWh battery pack and power ranging from 207 to 316 horsepower.
