This ultra-luxurious Bentley Mulsanne was specially designed for Queen Elizabeth II and has now joined the brand’s heritage collection.
In the history of the automotive industry for over 100 years, the Bentley Mulsanne is known as a symbol of luxury, elegance, and power. The Mulsanne was first introduced in 1980 and immediately caught the attention of the super-rich at that time. In 2009, the second generation Mulsanne was introduced and continued to attract attention with its stunning exterior and luxurious, exquisite interior. In 2020, Bentley announced the discontinuation of the Mulsanne to make way for its sibling, the Flying Spur.
One of the last Bentley Mulsannes produced has a special pedigree as it was once owned by Queen Elizabeth II. This car features a Barnato green exterior, while the interior is wrapped in Twine and Cumbrian leather, with Burr Walnut wood veneer and a premium sheep wool carpet.
Furthermore, this Mulsanne also has a private curtain in the rear, with the Royal emblem of the United Kingdom engraved on the door panel and a compartment designed to hold the Queen’s handbag.
For the Queen’s travels, the car is equipped with police lights and a siren, controlled by a hidden switch system located under the center armrest.
In terms of power, the Queen’s Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine with a displacement of 6.75L, producing 400 horsepower and 835 Nm of torque. Bentley has equipped the car with a special transmission, allowing the engine to maintain a slow speed for processions – averaging only 15 km/h.
Recently, this Mulsanne has been returned to the factory and included in the Bentley Heritage Collection. This collection consists of 45 significant cars, from the EXP2 produced in 1911 to the 2021 Continental GT Speed. The mentioned car is one of the 3 Mulsannes in the collection, along with the second Mulsanne ever made, the VIN 0002 from 2010, and the 2019 Mulsanne Speed that served in Bentley’s press fleet.
