At the beginning of December 2023, Maruti Suzuki joint venture officially unveiled the new special edition called Thunder Edition of the small SUV Jimny 5-door. Until now, the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Editions have started to be available at dealerships in India.

In the South Asian market, the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is priced at 1,074 Rupee (about 312 million VND). Compared to the regular version, the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is 200,000 Rupee (about 58 million VND) cheaper.
At the given cost, Indian customers will receive a more impressive appearance of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door. Compared to the regular version, the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition has a number of changes in terms of appearance such as new decals on the hood and doors. Suzuki offers 2 different decal styles for buyers to choose from.
Next is the underbody cladding below the front bumper, silver cladding on the doors and rain guards. In addition, Suzuki has added a range of new silver accents on the hood, side mirrors, and front/rear mudguards for the Jimny Thunder Edition. These changes make the special edition of the Suzuki Jimny 5-door look sportier and more rugged.
Inside the car, the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition also has some notable changes such as two-tone black-brown leather seats. The door handles and dashboard surfaces are also covered in brown leather. The door panel also has additional decorative patterns of mountains or stripes, corresponding to the decals on the outside of the car. Meanwhile, the sills of the car are added with the integrated “Jimny” logo.
The remaining equipment of the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is no different from the regular version. The car still has LED headlights, 15-inch wheels, spare tire on the trunk, automatic air conditioning, 9-inch touch screen center display that supports wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, push-button start, keyless entry, 4 speakers, and Cruise Control.
Under the hood of the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition is still the familiar 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.5L. The engine produces a maximum power of 105 horsepower and a peak torque of 136 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, along with a 4-wheel drive system AllGrip Pro.
Lastly, the safety features such as 6 airbags, ABS anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution (EBD), electronic stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, and reverse camera are all still present in the Suzuki Jimny Thunder Edition.
The Suzuki Jimny is now also available at dealerships in Vietnam but has not officially been released for sale. Unlike the cars in India, the Suzuki Jimny for Vietnam is the 3-door version and is imported directly from Japan. According to sales consultants at the dealership, the tentative price of the Suzuki Jimny at this time is about 800 million VND. The official release date of the car may be in early next year.
