Chevrolet Spark 4th generation made its debut at the New York and Seoul 2015 exhibitions. Until now, Chevrolet has just planned to bring this “affordable” car model to the Southeast Asian market, specifically in the Philippines.

According to some sources, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark will be officially launched in the Philippines market during the Manila exhibition in early April this year. It is predicted that after the Philippines, the new generation Chevrolet Spark will continue to be launched in other Southeast Asian markets such as Vietnam.

In the 4th generation, the Spark is added with a different design and the front of the car is similar to other models in the Chevrolet family. Compared to the old version, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark has a less interesting design but looks more mature.

The exterior design of the 2017 Chevrolet Spark is more evolution rather than revolution with a split grille and traditional headlamp cluster. Then there are the sloping roof, new rear door, and integrated rear spoiler.

Compared to the old version, the 2017 Chevrolet Spark has a longer wheelbase while the height decreases by about 40 mm to reduce aerodynamic drag. The basic dimensions of the 2017 Chevrolet Spark include an overall length of 3,595 mm, width of 1,595 mm, height of 1,475 mm, and wheelbase of 2,385 mm.

Moving on to the new generation, the Chevrolet Spark has 2 different engine options. The first one is the 3-cylinder Ecotec gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.0 liter, producing a maximum power of 74 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 95 Nm at 4,500 rpm.

The second one is the 4-cylinder Ecotec gasoline engine with a capacity of 1.4 liters. This engine generates a maximum power of 98 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 124 Nm at 4,400 rpm.

The prominent features of the 2017 Chevrolet Spark include 16-inch alloy wheels, LCD screen on the dashboard, MyLink entertainment information system with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay support, heated steering wheel, and 8 airbags.

The selling price of the 2017 Chevrolet Spark in the Philippines market is not yet clear. Meanwhile, in South Korea, the new generation Chevrolet Spark has a starting price of 10.15 million Won, equivalent to 200 million VND.
