A fire broke out at the temporary HBO film set in Ellenville, New York last Thursday, destroying a used car dealership and at least 27 vintage Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro cars from the 1990s. The cars were awaiting filming and many other vehicles in the surrounding area were also damaged.
The number of cars was provided to HBO by Jamie Kitman, the editor-in-chief of Automobile Magazine New York through his own company. While there was significant damage, luckily no one was injured in the devastating fire.
The total number of cars destroyed has not been accurately counted, as the authorities reported that there was “nothing left intact” at the scene of the fire, partly due to the fuel stored in the vehicles. According to MotorTrend, the fire originated from inside the dealership and spread outward. The estimated damage is in the millions of dollars.
The text from 613 Automotive Group, the dealership where the cars were stored, lists the prominent car models destroyed in the fire as classic Corvette/Camaro cars, C1500/454 SS pickup trucks, and a special edition Indy Pace Car of a Chevrolet Beretta 1990.
