Mr. D, while driving on National Highway 1, let two children stick their heads out of the sunroof. Upon receiving information about the driver’s behavior, the Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai Province immediately verified and issued a penalty.
Earlier, a photo of a red 5-seater car with license plate 60K-054.xx was circulated on social media. The car was moving on National Highway 1, in front of Dong Nai Children’s Hospital (Bien Hoa City). It is noteworthy that the car was carrying 2 children, about 7-9 years old, wearing school uniforms, dangerously sticking their heads out of the sunroof. The boy even sat on the car roof.
After the photo was posted, many people commented expressing their anger and requesting strict punishment for the driver. They also worried that the incident could repeat and pose a threat to the safety of the children and traffic.
Upon receiving the information, the Traffic Police Team of National Highway 1 coordinated with Police of Ho Nai 3 Commune, Trang Bom District to investigate.
After investigation, the police identified the driver of the car at that time as Mr. C.T.D (38 years old, residing in Ho Nai 3 Commune, Trang Bom District, Dong Nai Province). On November 29, the police invited Mr. D for questioning. At the police station, Mr. D admitted his violation.
The Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai Province issued an administrative fine of 4 million VND and suspended his driver’s license for 2 months for the act of carrying people on the car roof.
