With just about half a month left until the end of 2023, some dealers have started to release 2023 production year (2023 VIN) cars. A Toyota dealer in Ho Chi Minh City is a typical example.
This dealer is currently running a very attractive promotion for the Toyota Yaris Cross 2023 VIN. Under this promotion, the dealer is offering a discount of up to 120 million Vietnamese dong for the petrol version of the Toyota Yaris Cross and 140 million Vietnamese dong for the hybrid version. This discount includes 100% vehicle registration tax support, cash discount, and free body insurance along with accessories such as tinted film, dashcam, underbody coating, and nano coating.
Meanwhile, another dealer in Vinh Phuc province is offering a cash discount of 115 million Vietnamese dong for the Toyota Yaris Cross hybrid version, not including body insurance and accessories.

In December 2023, the Toyota Yaris Cross is being supported by the manufacturer with 100% vehicle registration tax not exceeding 73 million Vietnamese dong for the petrol version and 86 million Vietnamese dong for the hybrid version. In addition, customers who buy the Toyota Yaris Cross will also receive an additional 2 years of gold body insurance valued at 23.3 million Vietnamese dong. The total value of these benefits for this model is up to 100 million Vietnamese dong. However, in order to attract more customers, dealers have also launched their own separate promotional programs.
In Vietnam, the Toyota Yaris Cross is currently available in 2 versions: petrol and hybrid. The starting prices for these 2 versions are 730 million and 838 million Vietnamese dong, respectively. Compared to competitors in the same segment such as the Kia Seltos or Hyundai Creta, the Toyota Yaris Cross is considerably more expensive. In addition, the Toyota Yaris Cross is a fully imported model from Indonesia and therefore does not enjoy the 50% vehicle registration tax exemption from the government. These factors have prompted both the manufacturer and dealerships to continuously run promotions for this new B-segment SUV.
The above-mentioned promotional programs have helped boost the sales of the Toyota Yaris Cross to 1,092 units in November 2023, a growth of 364.6%, and it stands in second place in the B-segment SUV segment, behind only the Hyundai Creta. In addition, the Yaris Cross is selling 3 times more than its sibling model, the Toyota Corolla Cross (355 units).

Despite its relatively high price, the Toyota Yaris Cross comes fully equipped even in the standard version. From full LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, 18-inch wheels, LED taillights, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10-inch touch screen, wireless phone charging, interior ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, and advanced driver assistance features (ADAS), all of these are standard equipment for this B-segment SUV.
The biggest difference between the 2 versions of the Toyota Yaris Cross lies in the engine. The petrol version is equipped with a 4-cylinder, 1.5L engine with a maximum power of 105 horsepower and a peak torque of 138 Nm, combined with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The hybrid version, on the other hand, is equipped with a 1.5L petrol engine with 90 horsepower, an electric motor with a maximum power of 79 horsepower, and a lithium-ion battery.
With the “deep” promotions from both the manufacturer and dealerships, the Toyota Yaris Cross is expected to continue to break through in terms of sales in December.
