The Honda Dream 2024 was launched in the Cambodian market in early October, and it has been imported to Vietnam by private dealers at a hefty price.
Honda Dream 2024 is developed and upgraded by NCX Honda (the manufacturing and distributing unit of Honda in Cambodia) based on the 2023 version. In the land of temples, Honda Dream 2024 is priced at around 2,500 USD (~61 million VND). Now, some private dealers have brought this motorcycle model to Vietnam.
According to research, Honda Dream 2024 is currently being sold by private dealers at prices over 100 million VND. Some units even “scream” the price of this “legendary” scooter up to over 140 million VND. With this price, Honda Dream 2024 is almost twice as expensive as the premium scooter Honda SH 125i.
Once a famous name in Vietnam, Honda Dream has been discontinued in the country for a long time. Cambodia is the rare market in Southeast Asia that still produces this type of motorcycle. Because it was previously familiar in Vietnam, there are still potential customers ready to buy Honda Dream. However, because this motorcycle model has to be imported from abroad with limited quantity, the price is unavoidably inflated.
Honda Dream 2024 has dimensions of length x width x height of 1,868 x 697 x 1,051 (mm), a wheelbase of 1,200 mm, a ground clearance of 143 mm, a seat height of 751 mm, and a weight of 98 kg. These specifications are equivalent to the 2023 version of Honda Dream.
In terms of design, Honda Dream 2024 is almost unchanged compared to the previous version. However, some details of the motorcycle have been modified by the manufacturer to differentiate it from the previous versions. Firstly, the decorative decals on both sides of the body are newly designed with 3D graphics to create effects when light shines on them. The front cowl is also decorated with two yellow stripes, the color of the Cambodian royal family.
In addition, the decorative motifs on the small golden copper casing attached to the front cowl are also newly designed, complementing the style of the new decals. Some details such as the foot brake pedal and gear shift lever are chrome-plated and shiny instead of galvanized as in the previous version, giving the motorcycle a more classic look.
Furthermore, the display cluster on Honda Dream 2024 also has a new design with yellow stripes for decoration, separating the areas that display vehicle information. It also features multiple diamond-shaped blocks arranged in sequence, which is very unique. The plastic bezel surrounding the instrument panel is painted gray instead of gold as in the previous version.
Regarding the powertrain, Honda Dream 2024 still uses a single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine with an actual displacement of 124cc and electronic fuel injection technology. The manufacturer has not yet announced the power and torque of the motorcycle. This engine is paired with a 4-speed transmission.
