After about 03 months of being launched in its home country of South Korea, recently, the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 has officially been “exported” and showed up at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2023.
Compared to the domestic market, the appearance of Hyundai Santa Fe at the show is no different. The car still carries a square, robust design that evokes many associations with the Land Rover Defender.
In terms of dimensions, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has a length of 4,830 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,720 to 1,780 mm depending on the configuration, and a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. Compared to the previous version, the body is 45 mm longer and 20 mm higher, and the distance between the two axes is more than 50 mm wider. This allows for an increase in luggage volume from 634 liters to 725 liters (when the third-row seats are folded).
The front of the car leaves an impression with its unique “H” shaped headlights, accompanied by the Hyundai logo on the bonnet. In addition, the car has running lights that run parallel to the bonnet.
Looking at the side of the car, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe has extended wheel arches, a square design, giving it a strong and sporty look. The car features flat surfaces and a gently sloping roofline, along with a rugged black luggage rack. The window line of the car no longer tilts up at the C-pillar but extends straight to the rear of the car. Each version of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 will come with a different type of alloy wheels.
At the rear, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is equipped with taillights designed with a “H” graphic. This strip of lights is lowered, close to the trunk lid area. The car has hidden windshield wipers.
For those who prefer a fresh and sporty look, they can choose the new XRT Santa Fe version. This version will have a rugged design with a more muscular exterior. It will be equipped with 18-inch wheels, 30-inch off-road tires, and a 38 mm increased ground clearance compared to the regular version.
Inside, the cabin of the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is designed to be modern, luxurious, with a touch of minimalism yet sophisticated.
The car is equipped with a panoramic curved screen, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system. Some other notable features in the driver’s cabin include a premium Bose 12-speaker sound system, dual wireless charging and relaxing seats with footrests. In addition, the Santa Fe 2024 is also equipped with digital key technology, digital rearview mirror, and UV-C disinfection compartment.
In the US market, the car is still available in 2 seating configurations: 2+2+2 and 2+3+2. With the 6-seat configuration, the car will come with 2 business class seats in the middle. However, the third-row seats may be a bit cramped for passengers over 1.8m tall. On the other hand, users are equipped with cup holders, power outlets, USB ports, and air vents.
In terms of safety equipment, the Santa Fe in the US market has a series of driving assistance features such as: Smart Cruise Control, Highway Driving Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and Lane Following Assist. Other systems include Smart Limited Speed Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance, Remote Smart Parking Assist, Safe Exit Assist, and Surround View Monitor.
In addition, the Santa Fe will also be Hyundai’s first car in the US with a distracted driver warning feature. The car uses an infrared camera to monitor the driver and judge where they are looking in order to issue timely warnings and reminders.
Powering the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe in the US is a choice of two engines. The first is a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a maximum power of 277 horsepower and a maximum torque of 421 Nm.
The second is a hybrid powertrain with a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor, producing a total power of 232 horsepower and a maximum torque of 367 Nm. The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
It is expected that the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe will be officially sold in the US next year. Customers can buy this car online through the Amazon app.
The selling price of this car in the US has not been announced yet.
