Introducing the New Suzuki Baleno with prices starting from 171 million VND

The Suzuki Baleno, a brand new hatchback model with 5 doors, was first introduced at the Frankfurt 2015 exhibition held in September. Up to now, Suzuki has continued its introduction of Baleno to the Indian market.

The Suzuki Baleno has originally been produced in the Indian market before being exported to over 100 other countries. Therefore, it’s not surprising that India is the first market to receive the new affordable hatchback model from Suzuki.

In the Indian market, the new Suzuki Baleno is divided into 9 different equipment versions, including both petrol and diesel engines. The price of the Suzuki Baleno in the Indian market ranges from 499,000 to 811,000 Rupees, equivalent to 171 to 278 million Dong.

In the Indian market, the Suzuki Baleno targets direct competitors such as the Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz.

The basic dimensions of the new Suzuki Baleno include a total length of 3,995 mm, a width of 1,745 mm, and a height of 1,500 mm. The wheelbase of the car reaches 2,520 mm and the ground clearance is 170 mm. The fuel tank capacity as well as the luggage compartment of the Suzuki Baleno are 37 liters and 339 liters, respectively.

The newcomer from Suzuki is equipped with projector headlamps, daytime running LED lights, LED tail lights, and UV protection glass.

The car features 16-inch alloy wheels with 185/65 R16 front and 195/55/R16 rear tires.

Inside the car, there are a start button, central locking system, tilt adjustable leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio control buttons, automatic air conditioning, and a storage compartment under the middle armrest.

The car is equipped with the SmartPlay infotainment system with FM/MP3/CD, Bluetooth, AUX and USB, navigation, voice command, and SmartphoneConnect/Apple CarPlay apps.

The multi-information color screen is located in the instrument cluster.

The rear seats can be folded in a 60:40 ratio.

In the Indian market, the Suzuki Baleno is offered with 2 different engines. First is the 4-cylinder, DOHC, 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 84.3 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 115 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or CVT gearbox, with average fuel consumption of 21.4 km/liter, equivalent to 4.6 liters/100 km.

Second is the 4-cylinder, DOHC, 1.3-liter DDiS diesel engine with a maximum power of 75 horsepower at 4,000 rpm and a peak torque of 190 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The power is transmitted to the wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. The average fuel consumption of the Suzuki Baleno diesel engine is 27.39 km/liter, equivalent to 3.6 liters/100 km.

In terms of safety features, the Suzuki Baleno comes with disc brakes on both front wheels, an anti-theft alarm system, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), front fog lights, automatic headlights, 2 airbags, anti-glare rear-view mirrors, reverse/parking sensors, reverse parking camera, and rear windshield defogger.
