The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, modified from the Lexus GX 460, is being sold for $18,250 (about 420 million VND) and has found a new home.

In the US, since 2014, Toyota no longer offers the small-size SUV Land Cruiser Prado model. Customers can only buy the more expensive Lexus GX version. As a result, the supply of Prado cars has become scarce and many people are searching for them to buy.

Tapping into the market demand, an American man decided to turn his 2010 GX 460 SUV, which had run 305,000 km, into a 2018 Land Prado version. After posting it on an online auction site, he sold it for $18,250.

This luxury SUV has been “transformed” by this man from the exterior to the interior, almost resembling the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado.

In addition, the owner also replaced the Lexus logo on the front grille, rear trunk, and steering wheel with the Toyota logo.

The luxury SUV also comes with front/rear bumpers, headlights, grille, hood, step boards, and new taillights.

Inside the cabin, the gear lever, center control panel, and cup holders are taken from the 2021 GX 460.

The vehicle’s drivetrain remains unchanged with a 4.6-liter V8 engine producing 301 horsepower and 446 Nm of torque, delivering power to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission. The car also features off-road capabilities such as a limited-slip center differential lock from Torsen, an adaptive suspension system, and a ground clearance of 200 mm.
