Mitsubishi Triton Athlete 2024 officially priced in Southeast Asian markets from July.
Like other versions, Mitsubishi Triton Athlete 2024 still has the dimensions of 5,320 x 1,865 x 1,795 mm (length x width x height), a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, and a ground clearance of 222 mm.
As the highest-end version, Mitsubishi Triton Athlete 2024 also possesses a distinctive and fully equipped exterior.
The vehicle stands out with its signature Yamabuki Orange Metallic color. The front of the vehicle will undergo the most changes, with a large-sized grille and honeycomb-shaped mesh. The grille is surrounded by a thick silver border, with “Mitsubishi” written on it.
The front of the vehicle features a new two-tier headlight system with low-placed headlights, while the LED daytime running lights are integrated just below the hood. Below that are the fog lights. The Japanese pickup truck still has chrome C-shaped accents, but overall, the appearance of the 2024 Triton Athlete will be more rugged than the current model.
The front bumper area of the vehicle is redesigned to look more athletic and powerful.
The new-generation Mitsubishi Triton Athlete is equipped with glossy black fender flares, a new 18-inch alloy wheel design with multiple spokes, and 265/60 R18 tires. The roof of the vehicle is still designed with roof rails and a shark fin antenna.
The rear of the vehicle features a prominent T-shaped taillight cluster placed vertically, along with the Mitsubishi logo in the center.
As for the interior, the interior of the Triton cabin is significantly upgraded. The interior details are wrapped in leather and suede with honeycomb-stitched accents to create a more premium feel. The seats are coordinated in orange and black, providing a sporty and dynamic feel.
The vehicle is equipped with a 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated function buttons, a new 10-inch floating touchscreen with rotating knobs on both sides, a dashboard with a 7-inch multi-information LCD screen, a 6-speaker sound system, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a smart key, push-button start, a 2-zone automatic air conditioning system, 2 12V sockets, USB Type A/Type C ports for the rear seats, and wireless phone charging.
In addition, there are mechanical buttons designed like piano keys below the center air vent to adjust the air conditioning. The vehicle still uses the conventional gear lever, rotary knob for selecting the modes of the Super Select 4WD system, and mechanical handbrake.
Powering this pickup truck is a new 2.4L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine, generating maximum power of 204 horsepower and maximum torque of 470 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, 1-axle or 2-axle Super Select Full-time 4WD II. The 2-axle drivetrain has 4 modes: 2H, 4H, 4HLC, and 4LLC. In addition, the vehicle has 7 driving modes: Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock.
In terms of safety equipment, this pickup truck possesses many driver assistance features such as front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, 7 airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, automatic headlight adjustment, forward collision warning, cruise control, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, flashing lights during emergency braking, adaptive cruise control system with Stop & Go function at low speeds, front/rear sensors, and a 360-degree camera, active traction control with brake control, rear differential lock, Active Yaw Control active cornering control system, independent front suspension, and a double-wishbone rear suspension with a stabilizer bar.
After the Thai market, the new-generation Mitsubishi Triton is likely to be launched in Vietnam.
