Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan al Nahyan (also known as Rainbow Sheikh) is not your typical billionaire, but also a high-ranking member of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) royal family. This man, with a net worth of around $20 billion, is the owner of the world’s most unique car collection, known as the Emirates National Auto Museum. Here are some impressive cars in the collection.

The giant Land Rover

The Emirates National Auto Museum is housed in a pyramid-shaped building located about an hour’s drive from the center of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). To reach the museum, visitors have to travel along long, straight roads through the desert until they spot this giant replica, a giant Land Rover Series 3, marking the entrance of the museum.

The giant Jeep

Right outside the museum, there is a replica of a Jeep Willys that is the size of a house, with a shovel and an axe attached to the side of the body. This vehicle rarely moves, but it can be driven from a hidden seat behind the grille. Standing at a height of 6.5 meters, it is over 4 times larger than a regular Willys and has been certified by Guinness as the world’s largest replica of a Jeep.

Mercedes-Benz W116 monster truck

Rainbow Sheikh often turns his wildest dreams into reality. This is evident in the Mercedes-Benz W116 that has been turned into a monster truck parked in front of the museum. The car was developed and built for practical use but hasn’t rolled on wheels for a long time.

Mercedes-Benz R107 SL

Hamad bin Hamdan al Nahyan has a special fondness for the colors of the rainbow, which earned him the nickname Rainbow Sheikh. Therefore, many cars in his collection have rainbow accents, including this Mercedes-Benz R107 SL. All the chrome parts on the standard SL have been replaced with gold plating and flag holders indicate that the car has appeared in parades.

Mercedes-Benz 500 SEL

Also used for parades and special events, this Mercedes-Benz W126 is painted in multiple colors with exhaust pipes at the rear. Notably, the interior of the car is decorated to match the exterior: a orange dashboard, yellow front seats, green rear seats, and a blue shelf.
