The Ninja e-1 ABS is Kawasaki’s first electric motorcycle project, along with the Z e-1 Super Naked. One of the biggest advantages of this model lies in its surprisingly affordable price compared to other electric motorcycles.
The Kawasaki Ninja e-1 is an ideal choice for daily commuting in urban areas thanks to its lightweight design. The motorcycle weighs 140kg and has a ground clearance of 160mm. Additionally, the Kawasaki Ninja e-1 features a “Walk” mode for easy maneuvering when walking the bike.
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the Ninja e-1 is developed on the frame platform of the 400cc series and shares the same transmission system performance as motorcycles using 125cc internal combustion engines.
The Kawasaki Ninja e-1 uses an electric motor with a rated power of 5kW, a maximum power of 9kW (12.1 horsepower) and a torque of 40.5Nm, powered by two removable lithium-ion battery packs (each weighing 11.5kg) connected in parallel. Each battery pack has a capacity of 30Ah and a voltage of 50.4V, with a maximum energy storage capacity of 3.024kWh in a pair of batteries.
According to the manufacturer’s announcement, each battery pack takes about 3.7 hours to fully charge and 1.6 hours to charge from 20-85%. Additionally, the motorcycle is equipped with a regenerative braking system to recharge the batteries.
Notably, the Kawasaki Ninja e-1 is equipped with a slow riding mode and a reverse option, allowing for easy maneuvering at low speeds in crowded roads or narrow parking spaces.
In addition, the Kawasaki Ninja e-1 features a 4.3-inch TFT screen that can connect to smartphones and display full information. Additionally, there is a 5-liter storage compartment under the battery compartment to hold small items.
