Toyota to introduce 6 electric SUV models in Europe by 2026
The Japanese automaker has confirmed that it will introduce 6 electric SUV models in Europe between now and 2026, including the Urban SUV Concept and Sport Crossover Concept.
In a recent event in Belgium, Toyota responded to criticism of its slow entry into the electric vehicle market by unveiling a range of electric SUVs on the continent. The global automotive giant has various approaches to carbon neutrality, including a variety of hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell, e-fuel, and hydro products, depending on market demand and consumer preferences. In Europe, the company will establish a portfolio of six electric SUV models, starting with the bZ4X.

Following the bZ Compact SUV, the commercial versions of the Urban SUV Concept and Sport Crossover Concept will arrive in 2024 and 2025. Customers will have two different battery options and the choice of all-wheel drive.
In addition, advanced battery technology is a top priority for Toyota. After 2026, the company plans to introduce new batteries that double the range of current models and reduce production costs by 20% compared to the current bZ4X. These new batteries can be charged from 10-80% in just 10 minutes.
