After passing through the hands of the renowned armoring company Inkas, each fully armored Lexus LX 600 is capable of withstanding 2 grenade attacks or the firepower of an assault rifle.
As usual – not long after each luxury car is launched on the market, Inkas quickly released an upgraded version aimed at wealthy customers or individuals who regularly face the risk of attack. And this time, the newest 2022 version of the Lexus LX600 is no exception.
After passing through the hands of the Canadian armoring company, each luxurious flagship SUV from Lexus will be wrapped in armor-plating around the cabin, installed with bullet-resistant glass with reinforced door edges, and additional bulkheads in the trunk door.
In addition, the suspension system and the entire chassis of the car have also been reinforced, to ensure the vehicle can handle the increased weight after upgrading the bulletproof layers.
Even the vulnerability of the car, such as the fuel tank or the engine compartment, has been carefully calculated by Inkas and equipped with protective devices. At the same time, the car is also equipped with run-flat tires, allowing it to run for dozens of kilometers even when shot at.
After the upgrade, each car can meet CEN 1063 BR6 security standards. This means that the Inkas LX 600 can withstand the explosive force of two hand grenades DM51 or the equivalent attack power of automatic assault rifles using 7.62mm ammunition.
In addition, Inkas also offers some optional equipment that comes with the car for customers, such as flashing lights, infrared cameras, or an automatic fire-suppression system in the engine compartment. Customers can also request additional installation of alarm systems, loudspeakers, heavy-duty reinforced wheels, support door systems, quick escape equipment, as well as a 10-piston brake system.
Although significantly upgraded to withstand attacks, Canadian engineers have cleverly retained the original beauty of the car, similar to the standard version released by Lexus, to minimize attention from the outside. Meanwhile, the interior of the Lexus LX 600 bulletproof version still exudes a luxurious atmosphere, with a spacious 3-row seating space for 7 people, a panoramic sunroof, premium leather upholstery or surface trim, F-Sport sports steering wheel, and modern entertainment features.
To “balance” each heavy-duty LX600, Inkas has chosen to use the familiar twin-turbocharged V6 engine version. This heart can produce a power of 409 horsepower (equivalent to 301 kW or 415 PS) and a maximum torque of up to 479 lb-ft (or equivalent to 649 Nm).
The car comes with a ten-speed automatic transmission with full-time four-wheel drive. This configuration allows each Lexus LX600 to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds, while for the armored version from Inkas, this achievement will be slightly lower.
