Owning a stylish design, compact size, and lightweight, Honda Cub e: is particularly suitable for young customers and women.

According to the November Industrial Property Gazette published by the Intellectual Property Office, Honda has registered a design patent for the Honda Cub e: electric motorcycle in Vietnam. Therefore, it is likely that this model will be available for sale in Vietnam from 2024.

Honda Cub e: is considered as an electric version of the legendary Super Cub series. With the Cub e:, Honda has refined the design to be more sleek and simple compared to the gasoline-powered model. Honda Cub e: has dimensions of 1,839 x 339 x 1,066 mm. The motorcycle is relatively lightweight, weighing 53.6 kg, suitable for young customers or women.

It is worth noting that the Honda Cub e: is designed only for the driver’s seat and cannot be equipped with a rear passenger seat.

In terms of equipment, the electric version of the Honda Super Cub is equipped with LED lights including headlights and daytime running lights. Meanwhile, the turn signals are placed on both sides near the handlebars. The digital meter displays basic information such as battery capacity, ODO, and speed.

Furthermore, Honda Cub e: is integrated with a feature that connects to a smartphone, allowing users to monitor information such as battery capacity, distance, or GPS coordinates. At the bottom, the motorcycle is equipped with 17-inch cast wheels, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake.

Honda Cub e: is equipped with a Ternary lithium battery pack with a weight of 6.4 kg placed under the footboard, providing a travel range of about 65 km after a full charge with a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The battery of the motorcycle is placed under the footboard and there is no storage compartment, instead, there is a front hook for hanging items. In addition, the motorcycle is also equipped with pedals that the rider can use when the battery runs out on the road.

Currently, there is no information about the selling price of Honda Cub e: in Vietnam. Referring to the prices in China, this motorcycle is available in 4 color options, including yellow, white, gray, and red, with prices ranging from 5,999 CNY (equivalent to 20.5 million VND).

In addition to the electric version of Honda Cub, Honda has also registered industrial property in Vietnam for two other electric motorcycles, namely Honda Dax e: and Honda ZOOMER e:.

Honda Dax e: features a 400W motor and a large-capacity battery pack of 40V/24Ah for a travel range of up to 80 km and a maximum speed of 25 km/h. In China, this model has a starting price that is equivalent to the Cub e:.

Meanwhile, Honda Zoomer e: features a 350W electric motor and a 40V/24Ah battery pack. This motorcycle has a travel range of about 90 km with a maximum speed of 25 km/h. The reference price of this model is 6,099 CNY in China, equivalent to 20.8 million VND.

By registering patents for 3 new electric motorcycle models, Honda Vietnam is demonstrating its ambition to compete in the electric two-wheeler segment, which is currently dominated by VinFast and Chinese brands such as Dibao and Yadae.
