According to sales consultant information, the Volkswagen Viloran may be launched in Vietnam at the end of this year or early next year.
The Viloran can be considered as a replacement model for the discontinued Sharan in Vietnam. When it arrives, it will directly compete with the Hyundai Custin and Kia Carnival.
Currently, the Volkswagen Viloran has been officially available for pre-order at some dealerships with a deposit of 30 million VND. It is expected to be released in 2 versions: Comfort Line and High Line, with an estimated price of around 1.9 billion VND.
With this estimated price range, the Viloran will compete with the highest trim level of the Kia Carnival, which is priced at 1.834 billion VND.
There is a high possibility that the Viloran will be imported as a complete built-up unit from China since it is a product of the SAIC – Volkswagen joint venture. The car is based on the MQB platform and has dimensions of 5,346 x 1,976 x 1,781 mm. Compared to the Hyundai Custin and Kia Carnival, the 7-seater MPV Viloran has slightly smaller dimensions.
The front of the car is impressive with a large grille that exudes luxury. The design seamlessly integrates with the LED headlight cluster, giving the car a powerful and imposing face.
The Volkswagen Viloran is also equipped with sliding doors, like some other MPV models in this segment.
The rear of the car features slim LED taillights connected by chrome trim. Although it is an MPV, the Viloran doesn’t lack sportiness with its symmetrical dual-exhaust pipes and a roof spoiler.
Inside the cabin, the layout of the Viloran’s interior is reminiscent of some “siblings” such as the Touareg and Teramont.
The car boasts a spacious cabin with a host of modern features such as a 4-spoke sports steering wheel with multiple intelligent functions, a 10.2-inch digital screen, a large touchscreen entertainment system, a touch-controlled air conditioning system, and a famous DYAUDIO sound system from Denmark.
It is not clear what engine the car will be equipped with when it arrives in Vietnam. In the Chinese market, the 2023 Viloran is powered by a 2.0L TSI turbocharged engine. In the standard version, the car has a power output of 184 horsepower and a torque of 320 Nm. The more premium version has a maximum power output of 217 horsepower and a torque of 350 Nm.
All versions of the Viloran are equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
Similar to many recently launched cars, the Viloran promises to have many advanced safety technology features, such as active brake assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning.
The car also comes with a range of driving assist features, such as active brake assist, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning…
