Yamaha has recently introduced the PG-1 off-road motorcycle to the Southeast Asian market. This will be a formidable competitor, competing with the Honda Hunter C125 “hunters”.
Yamaha PG-1 is a stylish and adventurous off-road motorcycle. It can be used for daily commuting in the city or for conquering challenging terrains on long adventures.
The dimensions of the motorcycle are 1,980 x 805 x 1,050 (mm) in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 1,280 mm. The seat height is 795 mm and the ground clearance is 190 mm. The weight of the motorcycle is 107 kg, including a 5.1-liter fuel tank.
PG-1 2024 features a minimalist design with a classic round halogen headlight, accompanied by an analog speedometer, gear indicator, and a small fuel gauge.
The motorcycle has a compact size with a straight and wide handlebar, a high and comfortable seat, allowing for a comfortable riding experience.
The classic style of the Yamaha PG-1 is further demonstrated in details such as the front telescopic fork covered with rubber. The rear suspension system consists of 2 shock-absorbing coil springs. Both wheels use flower-spoke rims, 15 inches in size, combined with large off-road tires. The exhaust pipe on the Yamaha PG-1 is also designed to run along the body of the motorcycle, but placed lower than other motorcycles in the same segment.
The Yamaha PG-1 is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 2-valve SOHC air-cooled engine with a displacement of 115cc, producing nearly 9 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 9.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
This engine is equipped with a convenient electric starter and electronic fuel injection system, along with a wet clutch system that allows the motorcycle to easily navigate any terrain.
Yamaha has not yet revealed the price of the motorcycle. It is expected that after its launch in the Thai market, this motorcycle will also be brought to Vietnam in early December.
