Last weekend, nearly a hundred rare vintage cars for the upper class, including sports cars, military vehicles, motorcycles, and scooters, from various vintage car clubs gathered at an event in Van Hoa Dam Sen Park, attracting special attention from Saigon residents.
Many beautiful vintage cars attracted the people of Saigon.
In an interview with VietNamNet’s car reporter, Mr. Pham Minh Chien, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast who attended the event, said: “Most of the motorcycles and Jeeps present here were brought by members of vintage car clubs. There are many Jeeps, Vespas from the pre-liberation period, as well as many rare Honda Cub motorcycles.”

According to Mr. Chien, besides original vintage cars, there are also many cars customized in Japanese style, which are very impressive.
The Lambretta scooters were imported to Vietnam from the ’50s to ’60s of the last century and became a stylish symbol at that time. |
“There are many reasons why members keep these seemingly old vintage cars. Partly out of passion, partly to preserve childhood memories, some people see them as treasures of the subsidy era, so they cherish them…”, Mr. Chien shared.

Mr. Chien also owns a Honda Super Cub 78 with a bullet box attached at the rear of the bike. It is known that this is a bike left behind by his own grandfather, so Mr. Chien loves and takes care of it.
