The Suzuki Baleno is an affordable hatchback that was first introduced in the Indian market in September 2015. Now, after almost 2 years, Suzuki has brought the Baleno to the Indonesian market through the GIIAS 2017 exhibition.

The Suzuki Baleno 2017 in Indonesia is completely imported from India. However, compared to the Indian version, the Baleno 2017 for Indonesia has slight differences, with a slightly higher ground clearance of 170 mm. This change is made to adapt to the specific conditions in Indonesia.

This 5-door hatchback with a total length of less than 4 meters shares its engine with the Ertiga and Ciaz in Indonesia. It is a 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated, VVT, DOHC engine with a displacement of 1.4 liters, delivering a maximum power of 93 horsepower and a peak torque of 140 Nm.

The power is transmitted to the wheels through a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. As a result, this lightweight hatchback, weighing less than 1,100 kg, achieves an average fuel consumption of 22.17 km/l (4.5 liters/100 km) for the manual variant and 20.66 km/l (4.8 liters/100 km) for the automatic variant.

The standard features of the Suzuki Baleno 2017 in the Indonesian market include projector HID headlights, LED taillights, fog lights…

16-inch wheels

… and rear parking sensors.

Additional features include keyless entry, push-button start, automatic climate control…

A color multi-information display in the instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity system

… and a leather-wrapped tilting steering wheel with audio/phone control buttons.

Meanwhile, the rain visors, side moldings between the front/rear wheels, and the touchscreen display are optional features for the Suzuki Baleno 2017.

The safety features of the Suzuki Baleno 2017 are quite limited, with only 2 airbags, ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution).

In Suzuki’s product lineup, the Baleno 2017 is positioned higher than its “sibling” the Swift. In the Indonesian market, the Suzuki Baleno 2017 is priced at 195 million Rupiah (331 million Dong) for the manual variant and 207 million Rupiah (352 million Dong) for the automatic variant.
