LEVC – The electric vehicle company owned by Geely Group has recently introduced a pure electric minivan inspired by the Airbus A380 commercial aircraft.
LEVC is a passenger transport company established in 1919 and headquartered in the UK. The company was later acquired by Geely Group (China) from LTI Limited in 2013 and restructured into an electric vehicle manufacturer.
Recently, LEVC has unveiled a luxury pure electric minivan called LEVC L380. According to the manufacturer, both the name and design of this electric vehicle are inspired by the Airbus A380 – the world’s largest wide-body passenger aircraft.
The LEVC L380 measures 5,316 x 1,998 x 1,940 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 3,185 mm. The unladen weight is 2,805 kg. This size is spacious enough for an 8-seat cabin, even in the last row.
There is currently limited information about the LEVC L380, but the released images show that this minivan has a design that emphasizes aerodynamics, highlighted by a short front and horizontal LED daytime running lights.
The company states that the LEVC L380 is developed independently based on the new Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform announced by Geely in May this year. In fact, this is an improved version of the SEA (Scalable Electric Architecture) platform applied to many models of Geely Group, such as the Zeekr 009 and Volvo EM90.
Regarding performance, CarNewsChina reports that the LEVC L380 is equipped with an electric motor with a power output of 268 horsepower. It is accompanied by a battery pack produced by the CATL-Geely joint venture, providing a maximum range of 695km when fully charged.
According to Carscoops, the LEVC L380 will be officially launched in China in the next few weeks. The MPV model is manufactured in Zhejiang, China, along with the LEVC TX. Competitors in the Chinese market include the Zeekr 009, Volvo EM90, Li Mega, Denza D9, Xpeng X9, and Maxus Mifa 9.
