During a recent auction organized by Artcurial Motorcars Retromobile, a vintage Ferrari supercar named 335 Sport Scaglietti found a new owner for a whopping $35.7 million, equivalent to 32 million Euros. In terms of Euro currency, this is the most expensive Ferrari supercar to date.

According to initial reports, “an anonymous international bidder left others in regret by splurging $35.7 million on the vintage Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti.”

It has been rumored that the mysterious international bidder is none other than Argentine soccer superstar Lionel Messi.

This information was revealed by Proto Organisation, a company owned by Alessandro Proto who once owned the Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti 1957.

Proto Organisation also stated that soccer rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who is notorious for his love for luxury cars, also had an interest in the Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti 1957. However, Messi emerged as the winner in the auction. Despite this rumor, reliable sources close to Messi have denied these claims.

In the world of soccer, Ronaldo is known for his passion for cars. He currently owns an extensive collection of luxury cars, rivaling David Beckham’s collection, which includes brands such as Maserati, Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, BMW, and Lamborghini.

On the other hand, Messi doesn’t own as many cars as Ronaldo. The Barcelona forward is associated with cars like the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale, Audi R8, Audi Q7, and Audi Q5.

This particular Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti 1957 is quite remarkable. The car first participated in the Sebring 12 Hours race in March 1957 and finished 6th. It then went on to take part in the legendary Mille Miglia race and finished second.

Not stopping there, this car was also the first to run on the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit at a speed of over 200 km/h. Furthermore, it has a connection to racing legend Sir Stirling Moss, who drove the Ferrari 335 Sport Scaglietti 1957 and won the Cuba Grand Prix race in 1958.
