A Hyundai Santa Fe diesel driver in Thanh Hoa recently encountered a very unfortunate situation when he took his car to a fuel station to refuel, but instead of being filled with diesel fuel, it was mistakenly filled with A95 gasoline.
Specifically, at around 3:30 pm on April 16, 2023, he visited the Ngoc Hiep – Dong Tan – Thanh Hoa gas station to refuel. According to him, the driver clearly stated that he wanted to put in 10 liters of diesel fuel and went in to pay. When he returned, he discovered that the attendant had filled almost 10 liters of gasoline.
The gas station where the incident occurred
At the time of refueling, the car was still running and had little fuel in the tank. The gas station attendant, who had been working for only 20 days, admitted that he saw the word “Diesel” on the fuel cap, but due to lack of concentration, he made a mistake (the attendant self-twisted the cap and immediately poured it in while the driver was collecting money).

Immediately, the car owner contacted the manufacturer and was instructed to tow the car back to the garage/manufacturer to drain the fuel tank and immediately address the fuel filter.
After the incident, Santa Fe’s owner contacted the gas station owner multiple times but was denied responsibility and only asked to work directly with the attendant who mistakenly filled the fuel.
Finally, at 5:20 pm on the same day, Santa Fe’s owner had to call for roadside assistance to take the car back to Hyundai Thanh Hoa for resolution.

Due to the frustration with the incident and the gas station owner’s handling, Santa Fe’s owner criticized the incident on social media. As a result, the Ngoc Hiep – Dong Tan – Thanh Hoa gas station received a lot of criticism from the online community and eventually had to proactively contact the car owner to resolve the issue.
