On December 2, 2023, Yamaha Motor Vietnam surprised the market by introducing the Yamaha PG-1, a completely new motorcycle segment targeting the genZ generation in Vietnam. The allure of the Yamaha PG-1 quickly became a hot topic of discussion in the online community. And recently, Yamaha’s new model has once again caused a stir on the internet as a supercar enthusiast like Mr. Nguyen Quoc Cuong, also known as Cuong “Dollar,” has quickly acquired one.
However, instead of spending over 31 million dong to buy a Yamaha PG-1 motorcycle, Mr. Dam Thu Trang’s husband received it as a gift from a friend. Specifically, he shared that his neighbor gave him a Yamaha PG-1 motorcycle, with the reason being that the neighbor noticed he frequently rode a bicycle and decided to gift him a motorcycle. At this point, many netizens wished they had a quality neighbor like Cuong “Dollar”‘s friend.
However, it is not difficult to understand why the neighbor gave Cuong “Dollar” a Yamaha PG-1 motorcycle. This could be an end-of-year gratitude gift that the neighbor wanted to give to one of their VIP customers for many years. Specifically, Cuong “Dollar” has supported this person by selling supercars and buying used models from them multiple times.
It sounds a bit strange that buyers have to thank the sellers for selling supercars, but in reality, every car that Cuong “Dollar” liquidates for this person has a different buyer within a few months.
Regarding the Yamaha PG-1 motorcycle that Cuong “Dollar” recently received as a gift from his neighbor, it comes in a total of 3 versions with prices starting from 30 million dong.
The Yamaha PG-1 uses a 4-stroke, SOHC, 113.7cc engine with 2 valves and electronic fuel injection. It is air-cooled with a displacement of 113.7cc. The engine’s power and torque output are transmitted through a 4-speed gearbox with centrifugal automatic clutch.
Along with a shortened secondary transmission ratio (Finn: 40:14 → PG-1: 40:13), which helps create strong acceleration and pulling force. The fuel tank has a capacity of 5.1 liters with a fuel consumption rate of 1.69L/100km as stated by the manufacturer. The fuel cap is located under the front seat, allowing for quick refueling.
