In Vietnam, the Yamaha PG-1 is priced at 31 million VND (including 10% VAT). However, due to the shortage of supply, this model has different prices at some dealers.

Yamaha PG-1 was officially introduced to Vietnamese consumers in early December 2023. This is a generation of motorcycles that combines the flexibility of an urban bike with the adventurous spirit of off-road models. PG-1 is a new segment-opening motorcycle that has no competitors in the Vietnamese market. In some other markets, the bike will compete with Honda CT125.

In the Vietnamese market, Yamaha PG-1 is priced at 31 million VND (including 10% VAT). The estimated on-road price of this model is around 34 million VND. Customers can also purchase genuine upgrade packages for the PG-1 such as Casual, Camper or Tracker, with prices ranging from 3.2 – 10.7 million VND.

However, according to research at some Yamaha PG-1 dealers, there are inconsistent prices in the market. In theory, if customers buy Yamaha PG-1 in December, they will enjoy a price including 8% VAT of 30.44 million VND. The reason is that according to Decree 44/2023/NĐ-CP on value-added tax reduction policies, the 8% VAT is applied from July 1 to December 31.

However, in reality, many dealers are quoting the Yamaha PG-1 at 31 – 32 million VND (including 10% VAT). Therefore, customers will have to pay an additional amount of 600 – 1.6 million VND to own the Yamaha PG-1. In addition, the expected delivery time is February 2024.

The reason for the fluctuating prices of Yamaha PG-1 in the market is due to the insufficient supply. Another factor that may contribute to the shortage of PG-1 is the “speculation” by private motorcycle dealers.

According to research, many dealers have placed large orders for Yamaha PG-1 on the day it was launched. Then, when receiving the first batch of bikes, the dealers will sell them at channel prices, which are 3-5 million VND lower than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Therefore, including registration fees, users will have to spend nearly 40 million VND.

Yamaha PG-1 is a playful and stylish off-road motorcycle. It can be used for daily commuting in the city and is also capable of conquering tough roads on long adventures.

The Yamaha PG-1 is powered by a 4-stroke, single-cylinder, 2-valve SOHC engine, air-cooled, with a displacement of 115cc, producing nearly 9 horsepower at 7,000 rpm, with a maximum torque of 9.5 Nm at 5,500 rpm, paired with a 4-speed gearbox.
