Ford Vietnam has recently launched the Basic First Aid Skills Sharing Project – “Small Knowledge – Big Safety” to provide basic first aid knowledge in daily life and contribute to reducing casualties.
After 15 years of contributing to road safety in Vietnam, the Ford Driving Skills for Life (DSFL) program has actively expanded its social activities by sharing the right knowledge about basic first aid skills with the community. The aim is to minimize unnecessary casualties due to lack of timely or correct first aid through the Basic First Aid Skills Sharing Project – “Small Knowledge – Big Safety”.
Journey to Safety
During the 15-year journey of accompanying the community in accessing knowledge about safe driving from basic to advanced levels, the DSFL program in Vietnam has continuously added and improved content to meet the characteristics of traffic and the driving needs of the Vietnamese people. As part of the program, Ford aims to expand social activities, share correct knowledge with the community not only in safe driving but also in situations that require first aid, so that each individual can proactively ensure their own safety and better help the community.
“Safety is always a top priority for Ford. Ford is concerned about safety technologies in products, safety in the manufacturing process, and the safety of employees. And we also want to share safety knowledge with the community to help build a better world,” said Mr. Apichat Thuravatikul – Director of Marketing and Sales, Ford Vietnam.
The Basic First Aid Skills Sharing Project – “Small Knowledge, Big Safety”
The Basic First Aid Skills Sharing Project – “Small Knowledge, Big Safety” is a program initiated by Ford Vietnam in collaboration with Doctor Ngo Duc Hung – Emergency Resuscitation Department of Bach Mai Hospital, Lecturer at Hanoi Medical University, and author of the book “3-Minute First Aid”. The project aims to popularize basic first aid knowledge that is often misunderstood in daily life, contribute to minimizing casualties, and reduce dangerous actions for those affected.
“Everyone needs basic first aid skills to be able to respond promptly in dangerous situations that affect life. You don’t have to be a doctor or a medical staff to provide first aid. Just by researching and preparing in advance the basic first aid knowledge and participating in this free project, you have equipped yourself with the necessary first aid knowledge to protect yourself and help your loved ones,” shared Doctor Ngo Duc Hung.
First aid knowledge is widely shared through a series of short videos produced by director Dinh Duc Thanh’s production team, including 18 videos on basic first aid skills posted on Ford’s official channels. The videos include knowledge about first aid equipment, safety principles, basic first aid steps, and first aid cases combined with humorous situations that simulate common accidents such as electric shock, drowning, stroke, burns, wound treatment, animal/bug bites, bone and joint injuries, etc., to help viewers understand how to handle and respond promptly in various situations.
Accompanying the videos is a set of flashcards designed by illustrators Thanh Phong and Tran Ngoc Minh Thu to guide the basic first aid steps concisely, so that everyone can carry them or store them for use at any time.
Ford Vietnam has shared this basic first aid skills with pickup truck clubs and driving communities in major cities from North to South. With this video series, Ford hopes to spread even more useful knowledge in the community through social media channels.
Ford expects that this project, which shares small first aid skills, will bring great benefits to individuals in protecting themselves in risky situations, thereby promoting and improving the quality of life in the community.
