The price will be a major obstacle for Haima 7X-E to convince Vietnamese people, not to mention the brand factor.

Haima, the Chinese car brand, together with Carvivu, its distributor, introduced two new car models in Vietnam on December 17, 2023. These models are the 7X and 7X-E, with the latter being the electric version of the 7X. This also marks the first introduction of an all-electric MPV in the Vietnamese market.

In Vietnam, the Haima 7X-E comes in two versions: Standard and Premium. The corresponding prices for these versions are 1,111 billion VND and 1.23 billion VND, respectively. Customers who make a deposit of 30 million VND will receive a 100 million VND discount on the price of the car. The discounted prices for the Haima 7X-E are 1.011 billion VND for the Standard version and 1.13 billion VND for the Premium version.

It comes as no surprise that the Haima 7X-E shares the same design and basic specifications as its sibling, the 7X. The car has dimensions of 4,815 x 1,874 x 1,720 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,860 mm. With these dimensions, this Chinese MPV duo will compete with the Toyota Innova Cross and Hyundai Custin in Vietnam.

Similar to the 7X, the Haima 7X-E is designed with sleek lines and angular cuts. As an electric car, it does not have a front grille.

In the Standard version, this Chinese car only has halogen headlights, while the Premium version has LED headlights with automatic on/off and intelligent high beam control. Both versions are equipped with 18-inch alloy wheels, regular doors instead of electric sliding doors, and rear windshield defrosters. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, roof rack, heated rearview mirrors, and a power tailgate with trunk lid sensor are only available in the Premium version.

The interior of the Haima 7X-E provides a 7-seater space with a configuration of 2+2+3. The Standard version is relatively basic with a sofa-like function for the front two rows of seats, a 56-degree reclining second-row seat, a 60:40 folding third-row seat, independent air conditioning, and a 12V power outlet. The highlight of the Standard version is the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen display, which supports smartphone connectivity via Huawei’s Hicar software.

On the other hand, features such as heated/ventilated front seats, one-touch/open/close windows with anti-pinch function on all four doors, an air filtration system, PM2.5 dust filter, voice control, home device connectivity, and wireless smartphone charging are only available in the Premium version.

In terms of safety features, there are also differences between the two versions. The Standard version comes with 4 airbags, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera, vehicle stability control, hill start assist, hill descent control, tire pressure monitoring, electronic parking brake, temporary auto hold, and cruise control.

In the Premium version, the car is equipped with 6 airbags, front parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, lane change assist, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, speed limit assist, active emergency braking, front collision warning, blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, door opening warning, automatic parking assist, and remote parking control.

In both versions, the Haima 7X-E is powered by an electric motor located on the front axle, producing a maximum power of 201 horsepower and a peak torque of 340 Nm. The battery pack has a capacity of 71.37 kWh, allowing the car to travel 460 km on a full charge according to NEDC standards. The charging time from 30% to 80% using a fast charger is 27 minutes. With a slow AC charger, the full charging time is 11.5 hours. Additionally, the Premium version comes with a charging cable and an external 220V power supply.

The Haima 7X-E has a 5-year or 100,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. The battery is covered by an 8-year or 120,000 km warranty, whichever comes first.

Overall, the Standard version of the Haima 7X-E is not impressively equipped considering its price tag of over 1 billion VND. The selling price will be a major obstacle for this car in convincing Vietnamese consumers, not to mention the brand factor.
