In a recent auction on December 26, a license plate from Vinh Phuc province was sold at a high price.
Specifically, since it was listed, license plate 88A – 688.88 from Vinh Phuc province has attracted a lot of attention from participants. The bidding price kept increasing every minute, every second. Finally, after 30 minutes, the license plate was sold for 3,035,000,000 Vietnamese dong.
According to Eastern beliefs, the number 8 is called “Bat” in Hán Việt and its pronunciation encourages luck, prosperity, fulfillment of work, bright career, and abundant wealth. Therefore, for business people or those who appreciate beautiful license plates, a license plate with repeating number 8 has great value.
Previously, there were many unique license plates from different provinces and cities that were sold at high prices. For example, the license plate 22A-222.22 from Tuyen Quang was sold for 12.19 billion Vietnamese dong. The license plate 11A-111.11 from Cao Bang was sold for up to 8.78 billion Vietnamese dong.
According to the new license plate auction regulations, the duration of an auction has been reduced from 60 minutes to 30 minutes. Participants can register for an auction account using their phone number and also provide their citizen identification number and business tax code.
In addition, if there is only one eligible participant registered at the end of the registration period, the license plate will be transferred to that person.
