The Nissan Kicks e-Power was officially launched in the Vietnamese market in November 2022 with 2 versions and a price range of 789 – 858 million VND. The relatively high price in the segment makes this model quite selective.
To improve sales in the period leading up to the Lunar New Year, dealerships are actively offering discounts for the Nissan Kicks e-Power. Specifically, the highest-end V version of this model is discounted by up to 170 million VND, bringing the actual selling price at dealerships down to 688 million VND. The base E version of the Nissan Kicks e-Power is no longer available for sale at many dealerships.
With this price reduction, the Nissan Kicks e-Power V version will be cheaper than the high-end version of competitors such as the Kia Seltos (714 million VND), Hyundai Creta (740 million VND), Toyota Yaris Cross (838 million VND), and Honda HR-V (871 million VND).
Of course, the competitors of the Nissan Kicks e-Power also have their own special offers from the manufacturer or the dealership. A typical example is the Hyundai Creta with a discount of up to 120 million VND for 2022 VIN vehicles imported directly from Indonesia. Meanwhile, the Toyota Yaris Cross is offered with a discount of up to 140 million VND for the hybrid version and 120 million VND for the gasoline version.
In the B-segment SUV market in Vietnam, the Nissan Kicks e-Power stands out thanks to its unique hybrid powertrain. Specifically, the Nissan model uses e-Power transmission technology, which includes an electric motor, lithium-ion battery, inverter, gasoline engine, and power generator. The electric motor of the Nissan Kicks e-Power generates a maximum power of 136 horsepower and a maximum torque of 280 Nm. The gasoline engine is a 3-cylinder, DOHC, 12-valve engine with a displacement of 1.2L, producing a maximum power of 82 horsepower and a maximum torque of 103 Nm.
The aforementioned gasoline engine does not act as the primary power source for the car but serves as a power generator to charge the battery. Meanwhile, the primary power source is the electric motor. This powertrain allows the Nissan Kicks e-Power to operate like an electric car but without the need for plug-in charging and with extremely fuel efficiency. The fuel consumption in urban areas of this B-segment SUV model stops at 2.2 liters/100 km.
In addition to the fuel-efficient engine, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is equipped with notable features such as LED headlights, daytime running LED lights, front LED fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, power-folding/mirror-adjusting/turn signal-integrated mirrors, and LED taillights. Next are the convenience features such as weightless driver’s seat, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto/Apple Carplay support, and 2 USB ports.
