The all-new Peugeot 5008 2024 will be launched in the second half of next year with comprehensive changes in terms of platform, engine options, and interior/exterior design compared to the current generation.

While not dominating the sales charts for small and subcompact SUVs, midsize SUVs still have their own customer base – families in need of a spacious 7-seater. Among them, the Peugeot 5008 is a popular choice, especially in the European market. To maintain its competitive advantage, Peugeot recently revealed that the new generation 5008 will be officially launched in August 2024.

In terms of design, the Peugeot 5008 2024 will closely follow the style of its “sibling” the 3008, which was launched in September 2023. The biggest difference between the two models is that the 2024 Peugeot 5008 has a more pronounced SUV character, while the 3008 follows a sporty fastback style. Signature Peugeot details such as the frameless grille and lion claw-shaped LED headlights will continue to be applied to the design of the new generation 5008.

The Peugeot 5008 2024 is expected to be longer than 4,700mm, significantly larger than the current version (4,641mm) and on par with competitors like the Skoda Kodiaq and Renault Espace. In addition, the overall length of the Peugeot 5008 is also about 160mm longer than the 3008.

The large dimensions provide the Peugeot 5008 with a spacious cabin. Like its predecessor, the French-branded SUV offers options for 5 or 7 seats. The interior design of the Peugeot 5008 will be similar to the 3008, with highlights such as the 21-inch curved i-Cockpit screen, a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel, integrated function buttons, and premium materials such as fabric or leather. In addition, this SUV is also equipped with the latest advanced ADAS features from the parent company, Stellantis.

The Peugeot 5008 2024 will be developed on the all-new STLA Medium platform, replacing the widely used EMP2 platform for most midsize and compact SUVs/Crossovers of the Stellantis group. The new chassis is said to be compatible with multiple powertrain systems, including pure electric.

The 2024 Peugeot 5008 is expected to have 2 pure electric versions. In the standard variant, the e-5008 has a 207 horsepower electric motor paired with a 73 kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the long-range version is equipped with a 98 kWh battery pack and a more powerful electric motor with 227 horsepower.

In addition, the Peugeot 5008 2024 will also be offered with hybrid engine options. The mild hybrid version is equipped with a turbocharged 1.2-liter petrol engine and a 48V electric system, providing a total output of 155 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed e-DCS automatic transmission.

Moreover, the Peugeot 5008 2024 will also have a plug-in hybrid option. However, there is currently no information about the power of this engine configuration on the new 5008.
