After unveiling an attractive electric sports car concept last week, Toyota has officially introduced the FT-Se model at the ongoing Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Tokyo. Toyota describes the FT-Se as a high-performance electric sports car proposed as one of the choices for sports cars in the carbon-neutral era.
Let’s start with the appealing design of the Toyota FT-Se. Instead of mainly drawing inspiration from the current Supra and GR 86 sports cars, Toyota seems to have developed the design of the 2021 GR Sports Concept to create a concept model that looks modern, aggressive, and dare I say, sexy.
The front end immediately attracts attention with its black grille, large air intakes, and daytime running LED lights running along both sides. The sharp nose of the car points towards the cabin in the style of supercars. The wheels are designed with a sporty look and come with red brake calipers. The door handles are flat and the side mirrors are small.
At the rear, we can see a fixed wing, slim LED taillights, and a diffuser.
Toyota has also showcased the FT-Se version on the racetrack with a fixed rear wing attached to the rear window.
The interior of the FT-Se is also impressive. A U-shaped steering wheel is placed between two vertical screens, displaying important functions of the car as well as entertainment information. Additionally, the car features a digital instrument cluster and Recaro seats covered in blue Alcantara leather.
The Japanese automaker has not provided specific information about the powertrain of this concept model, other than confirming that it is a fully electric vehicle.
