Amid rising fuel prices ahead of Tet, VinFast is offering many incentives worth over 100 million VND to meet the customers’ demand for owning a car before the new year.
Buy an electric car before Tet and save hundreds of millions of VND
The Vietnamese car market is entering the busiest shopping season of the year. Taking advantage of the customers’ mindset of “racing against time” to buy a car in December 2023 to enjoy a 50% discount on domestic assembled petrol cars’ registration fee, some brands immediately increased their prices by nearly a hundred million VND, disappointing potential buyers.
“I paid a deposit of 20 million VND to buy a C-segment SUV, but the dealer informed me that the brand had adjusted the prices. It’s not worth spending an extra nearly hundred million VND, so I decided to switch to an electric car as I was already considering it,” shared Tuan Nguyen, a member of the car user community in Vietnam.
According to Tuan, in contrast to the end-of-year price hikes by some brands, VinFast is offering a 30 million VND discount and 1 year of free charging at public charging stations for customers ordering a VF 7 in December. In addition, the 100% registration fee exemption for electric cars also makes the on-road price of the VF 7 much better than the gasoline model he initially planned to buy.
“Considering the savings of over a hundred million VND when buying the VF 7, I can comfortably spend during Tet,” Tuan said, believing that his decision to switch from gasoline to electric is absolutely correct.
Customers placing a deposit for the VinFast VF 7 before December 31, 2023, will receive a direct discount of 30 million VND on the car price.
Also taking advantage of VinFast’s year-end promotion, Dang Huynh from Hung Yen province ordered a VF 8 in December. Previously, he had spent nearly 2 months desperately searching for a gasoline model priced at 1 billion VND that fully met his criteria. On the other hand, at the same price range of 1 billion VND, the VF 8 has more features than he needs.
“I chose the Eco version, which is discounted by 121 million VND directly from the price. The total cost is less than 1 billion VND, including battery rental. This cost is even cheaper than some C-segment SUVs, but I get to own a smart electric car with advanced safety features and superior performance in the D-segment,” Huynh said.
The VF 8 is discounted by 121 million VND (Eco version) and 125 million VND (Plus version) for orders placed until January 15, 2024.
In addition, the two-year zero fee program for VF e34 and 6-seater VF 9 models, as well as the 3% discount program for teachers and education professionals, help customers save over a hundred million VND when choosing VinFast electric cars this year-end.
Low operating costs drive the trend of cross-country travel by electric cars during Tet
After placing a deposit for a VF 6 and preparing to receive the car before Tet, Bich Hanh from Ho Chi Minh City said she will use her electric car for cross-country travel during Tet.
“There are charging stations in the city, on national roads and expressways everywhere. The cost is less than 600 VND per kilometer, so it saves me 5-6 million VND in fuel costs for a 3-week cross-country trip,” Hanh made detailed plans and eagerly awaits the day she can pick up her car.
In fact, cross-country travel by electric cars has become a trend in the past 2 years after VinFast electric cars were launched. From the VF e34, VF 8, to later VF 9 and VF 5 Plus models, many cross-country trips have been undertaken to “test” the superior power of the vehicle and, especially, its convenient charging capabilities.
“Electric cars save energy costs 3-4 times compared to gasoline cars, which is the main reason why VF 8 owners are willing to travel twice or even three times more compared to when using gasoline cars,” affirmed Chu Huu Tho, owner of the AutoBikes channel, based on a survey of VF 8 owners in the northern region.
A widespread charging station system and cost-saving energy help electric car owners feel at ease during cross-country travel
As of December 2023, VinFast’s public charging station system is present in 80 out of 88 cities nationwide. The distance between 2 charging stations in urban areas is planned to be within 3.5 km, allowing customers to travel a short distance to charge their cars. VinFast’s charging station system is deployed on 106 national highways and expressways, with various power levels from regular charging to super-fast charging, making long-distance interprovincial travel by electric cars simple and convenient.
“Traveling by electric car is not much different from gasoline cars. We even completed a cross-country trip in a much shorter time than planned, only 28 hours and 33 minutes, including 3 hours and 8 minutes for charging and over 25 hours driving. That’s a record-setting number,” said car expert Nguyen Manh Thang, CEO of Whatcar Vietnam, who has frequently embarked on cross-country trips with VinFast electric cars.
Viet Anh, who has driven a VF e34 on a 24,000 km journey across the provinces, believes that the advantages of electric cars over gasoline cars on long trips are their smooth operation, powerful engines, and smart driving experience with many driver assistance features.
“Operating the electric car is smooth, responsive, making overtaking or climbing hills effortless. Driving long distances with an electric car is also safer,” said Viet Anh, commenting on the advantages of VinFast electric cars compared to gasoline cars.
With numerous incentives, low operating and usage costs, as well as superior performance compared to gasoline cars in the same price range, VinFast electric cars are becoming the top choice for families during the year-end shopping season to serve the needs of celebrating Tet and spring festival.
