The focus of the Honda booth at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 will be the WR-V Field Explorer Concept and Accord e:HEV Sports Line. These are examples of how users can personalize their cars with genuine Honda accessories.

Starting with the WR-V, this affordable SUV is also known as the Honda Elevate in India. The car will be imported from India to Japan starting in March, and Honda wants to create an adventurous version for off-road enthusiasts with the “Field Explorer” concept.

The highlight of the concept is the new front grille with the Honda logo and three yellow LED light strips, matching the fog lights below. The chrome and aluminum trim around the car has been replaced with black accents, while the headlights and taillights appear tinted. Other changes compared to the standard WR-V include black wheels wrapped in off-road tires, side body protectors, and a roof rack.

The Japanese market Honda WR-V has a length of 4,312 mm and is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine producing a maximum power of 119 horsepower, combined exclusively with a front-wheel drive CVT transmission. The lack of an AWD version limits the WR-V’s off-road capability, although the standard version has a ground clearance of 220 mm.

Moving on to the Honda Accord e:HEV Sports Line, this is a sporty sedan version equipped with genuine Honda accessories. The car features dark-colored 19-inch alloy wheels and sleek black aerodynamic parts. Note that the Accord is expected to be available in the Japanese market in spring 2024 and will only be available with hybrid powertrain.

Honda’s “tuned car” lineup at Tokyo will also include the Honda Civic Type R Mugen Gr.A & Gr.B editions, which were previewed at last year’s exhibition. Additionally, the Japanese automaker will showcase a total of 8 racing cars from various motorsport categories.

Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 will take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from January 12 to January 14.
