Huawei is developing a new electric car in collaboration with Seres to create a 6-seater SUV called Aito M9. Previously, the Chinese company, known for producing iPhone alternatives, partnered with Chery to create the Luxeed S7, which is advertised as a superior product to the Tesla Model S.

Their latest joint venture brings some exciting technologies, including a projector that provides passengers with a cinema-like experience inside or outside the beautiful Chinese-designed SUV.

With its sleek design and large size, the Aito M9 will compete with rivals like the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS, as well as some local models you’ve never heard of. The high-tech headlights with integrated projectors can project images and videos, creating a 100-inch screen on any flat surface.

Inside, a retractable 32-inch control panel tries to replicate the “Cinema Screen” on the BMW i7, while the control panel includes three displays that form a panoramic scanning screen similar to Mercedes’ Super Screen and a massive display on the windshield. And if that’s not enough, each of the four rear passengers will have a tablet to use, running on Huawei’s HarmonyOS 4 system.

The 6-seater SUV has flexible seating arrangements and can be configured as a double bed, with each seat operated electronically, with heating and ventilation systems.

The Aito M9 is equipped with a fully electric powertrain with a power output of 390 kW (523 hp) and a range of over 630 km, and it is also an Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV), where the 1.5-liter fossil fuel engine acts as a generator and operates with a combined power output of 365 kW (490 hp) to provide a range of 1,350 to 1,400 km.

The Aito M9 will be delivered in early 2024. Prices start from 469,800 Yan (approximately 1.6 billion VND) for the M9 EREV Max and go up to just under 2 billion VND for the M9 EV Ultra.
