Buy electric cars before Tet, save hundreds of million dong

The Vietnamese auto market is entering the busiest shopping season of the year. Taking advantage of customers’ “race” against time to buy cars in December 2023 in order to enjoy a 50% reduction in registration fees for domestically assembled gasoline cars, some companies have immediately increased their prices by nearly a hundred million dong, which has disappointed buyers.

“I have deposited 20 million to buy a size C SUV, but the dealer informed me of a price increase. Spending an additional nearly a hundred million is not worth it, so I switched to buying an electric car because I had also been pondering that”, member Tu Nguyen (Hanoi) shared on the car user community in Vietnam.

According to Tu, in contrast to the year-end price increase strategy of some automakers, VinFast is offering a discount of 30 million dong and a free year of public charging for customers who order VF 7 in December. In addition, enjoying 100% of the registration fee for electric cars also helps VF 7 have a much better rolling price compared to the gasoline model that Tu originally intended to buy.

“Considering that I save more than a hundred million when closing the deal for VF 7, it will be more convenient for my Tet expenses,” Tu said and believed that his decision to switch from gas to electric was completely accurate.

Customers who deposit for VinFast VF 7 before 31/12/2023 will receive a direct discount of 30 million dong on the price of the car

Also taking advantage of VinFast’s end-of-year incentives, Dang Huynh (Hung Yen) placed an order for VF 8 in December. Previously, he had spent nearly 2 months tirelessly searching for a gasoline model within the price range of 1 billion dong, but no model met all the criteria. On the other hand, at the same price of 1 billion, VF 8 has excess capacity compared to his needs.

“I chose the Eco version, which offers a discount of 121 million dong directly deducted from the price. The total cost is less than 1 billion dong (rent pin – PV). This cost is even cheaper than some size C SUV models, but I own a smart electric car with advanced safety features and superior engine power in the D segment,” Huynh said.

VF 8 receives a discount of 121 million dong (Eco version) and 125 million dong (Plus version) when ordered by January 15, 2024

In addition, two-year free registration fee programs for the VF e34 and VF 9 6-seater models; or the 3% discount program for teachers and educators also help customers save over a hundred million dong when choosing VinFast electric cars for the end of the year.

Low operating costs driving the trend of driving electric cars across Vietnam during Tet

Having placed a deposit for a VF 6 and preparing to receive the car just before Tet, Ms. Nguyen Bich Hanh (Ho Chi Minh City) said she would use her electric car for a cross-Vietnam journey during the Tet holiday.

“There are dense charging stations in both the city, national highways, and expressways are ready. The usage cost is less than 600 VND/km, which means saving 5-6 million dong in fuel costs for a 3-week cross-Vietnam trip,” Hanh made detailed plans and said she was eagerly awaiting the day to receive the car.

In fact, traveling across Vietnam by electric cars has become a trend in the past 2 years since VinFast electric cars were sold in the market. From the VF e34, VF 8 models, and later VF 9, VF 5 Plus, many cross-country trips have been made to “verify” the superior power of the vehicle and especially the convenience of charging VinFast electric cars.

“Electric cars save energy costs 3-4 times more than gasoline cars, which is the main reason why VF 8 owners are willing to travel twice or three times more than when using gasoline cars,” Chu Huu Tho, the owner of AutoBikes, affirmed based on surveys of the VF 8 community in the North.

A wide range of charging stations and energy-saving costs help electric car owners feel reassured during cross-country journeys

As of December 2023, VinFast’s public charging station system has been present in 80 out of 88 cities nationwide. The distance between 2 charging stations in urban areas is planned to be no more than 3.5 km, so customers only take a few minutes to move and can already charge their vehicles. VinFast’s charging station system is deployed on 106 national highways and expressways, with different power levels from regular charging to super-fast charging, making long-distance interprovincial travel by electric cars simple and convenient.

“Traveling by electric cars is no different from gasoline cars. We have even completed cross-country trips earlier than planned, only taking 28 hours 33 minutes, in which 3 hours 8 minutes were for charging, and over 25 hours were for moving. That is a record-breaking number,” automobile expert Nguyen Manh Thang, CEO of Whatcar Vietnam, who has repeatedly made cross-country trips by VinFast electric cars, said.

Having driven the VF e34 for a 24,000km journey across provinces, Viet Anh, also known as Mr. Viet Anh, believes that the advantages of electric cars compared to gasoline cars on long trips are their smoothness, powerful engines, and intelligent driving experience with multiple driver assistance features.

“As it is an electric vehicle, it runs smoothly and responds quickly, such as overtaking other cars or climbing hills quite gently. Driving electric cars on long journeys is also more reassuring in terms of safety,” Viet Anh said about the advantages of VinFast electric cars compared to gasoline cars.

With many incentives, low rolling and usage costs, as well as superior performance compared to gasoline cars in the same price range, VinFast electric cars are the top choice for families during the end-of-year shopping season to serve their Tet and Lunar New Year needs.
