As the Vietnamese car market enters the final month of Q2, many car manufacturers and dealerships continue to implement promotional programs for customers, offering maximum discounts of millions of Vietnamese dong.

Nissan cars

In the Vietnamese market, Nissan’s existing product range includes 3 car models in different segments, including Nissan Almera, Nissan Navara, and the hybrid car Nissan Kicks.

Among them, Nissan Almera competes with tough competitors in the B-segment sedan category such as Hyundai Accent, Honda City, or Toyota Vios. This model is listed at around 539-595 million dong, which is equivalent to the selling price of its competitors in the same segment.

In June, customers buying Nissan Almera are offered a discount of 70 million dong, reducing the selling price of the CVT version to only 469 million dong. For the premium CVT version, the post-discount price is only 525 million dong.

The hybrid car Nissan Kicks e-Power also enjoys a cash discount of 80-90 million dong in June. After the price reduction, the Nissan Kicks E version is priced at 709 million dong, down from 789 million dong. The V version is discounted by 90 million dong and is currently priced at 768 million dong.

Although Nissan does not disclose detailed sales figures, it is likely that Nissan Navara cannot compete with Ford Ranger in terms of sales, as the pickup truck model from the United States demonstrates its dominance in sales compared to its competitors in the same segment.

In June, customers buying Nissan Navara VL 4WD and PRO-4X versions are enjoying a cash discount of up to 120 million dong. Thanks to this, the selling prices of these mentioned versions of the Thai-imported pickup truck are currently 825 million dong and 850 million dong respectively.

For the EL 2WD version of the Navara pickup truck, the discount applied by Nissan in June is 80 million dong. The base version of the Navara pickup truck currently has a practical price of 619 million dong, which is considered the most attractive in the segment at the moment.

In addition to the above-mentioned cash discount, many Nissan dealers also give additional accessories to customers buying cars such as window film, canopy, floor mats, dashcams, and a one-year body warranty.

Mitsubishi car lineup

At the beginning of June, Mitsubishi announced the implementation of a promotion program with the “3 no” policy, in which customers will be fully supported with vehicle registration fee when buying cars from the brand.

With the above-mentioned support policy, combined with a 0% interest rate loan program from Mitsubishi’s financial support program and a free comprehensive insurance package, the maximum discount for Mitsubishi cars in June can be up to 200 million dong.

The highest discount rate in this promotion belongs to the Pajero Sport model. The 7-seater SUV from the Japanese automaker has a modest sales volume with only 301 units sold in Vietnam after the first 4 months of the year, approaching the top 10 slowest-selling models in the market.

In Vietnam, the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is listed at around 1.13-1.365 billion dong and has to compete with Hyundai Santa Fe (1.055-1.375 billion dong), Toyota Fortuner (1.026-1.47 billion dong), Ford Everest (1.099-1.499 billion dong), or Isuzu mu-X with a listed price range from 900 million to 1.19 billion dong.

For the Triton pickup truck, the discount for customers buying cars in June is equivalent to a maximum value of 110 million dong. In addition to support for vehicle registration fees, complimentary body insurance, and preferential interest rates, customers who choose to buy Mitsubishi Triton during this period will also receive an additional retractable cover worth 20 million dong.

This pickup truck is imported directly from Thailand by Mitsubishi and distributed in Vietnam with a total of 3 versions, with listed prices ranging from 650 million to 905 million dong.

Mitsubishi’s main car models in Vietnam, including the Attrage and Xpander, also enjoy similar discounts. For the Xpander, customers buying cars in June will also receive an additional 360-degree camera worth 20 million dong.

In an exchange with Tri Thuc Online, a sales advisor from a Mitsubishi dealership confirmed that the above-mentioned promotional program is only applicable to Pajero Sport, Triton, Xpander, and Attrage models produced in 2022.

For the C-segment SUV Outlander, Mitsubishi has announced that only a 50% vehicle registration fee discount and a complimentary 360-degree camera worth 20 million dong are applied.

Toyota’s best-selling models

In an exchange with Tri Thuc Online, a Toyota dealer sales advisor said that many car models from the brand are currently being offered discounts to stimulate sales and increase market share.

Among them, the newly launched Toyota Vios 2023 is also offered a cash discount of 20 million dong and a 50% vehicle registration fee support program.

The B-segment sedan model that led the entire Vietnamese market in sales in 2022 is currently experiencing a relatively slow start with a total sales volume of only 2,890 units since the beginning of the year, averaging just over 722 units per month.

In the facelift version that has just been launched in Vietnam, the listed prices of the Toyota Vios E versions have decreased compared to the previous generation, currently ranging from 479-528 million dong. The G version of the Toyota Vios 2023 is still priced at 592 million dong.

Meanwhile, despite being outperformed by the Mitsubishi Xpander in the mass-market MPV segment, the Toyota Veloz Cross is experiencing better sales than the Vios with a total of 3,050 units successfully delivered to customers in Vietnam after the first 4 months of the year.

This compact MPV has been locally assembled since late 2022 with unchanged prices, from 658 million dong for the CVT version to 698 million dong for the CTV Top version.

It is known that the Toyota Veloz Cross is currently offered by dealers with a maximum discount of 35 million dong and complimentary body insurance when customers buy cars in June.

For the Toyota Corolla Cross, the highest discount rate of 65 million dong is currently applied to the cars with 2022 VIN numbers. For the batch of Corolla Cross cars produced in 2023, the current discount applied by dealerships is 35 million dong.

After the first 4 months of the year, the Toyota Corolla Cross is the best-selling nameplate from Toyota in Vietnam. The sales volume of the Toyota Corolla Cross reached 4,727 units since the beginning of the year, averaging nearly 1,182 units per month.

After the price adjustment in January, the listed price of the Toyota Corolla Cross G version is currently 755 million dong. In the V and HEV versions, the selling prices of this urban SUV are 860 million and 955 million dong respectively.
