Kawasaki EV was showcased at Intermot.

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki made headlines at the Intermot trade show with the Kawasaki EV motorcycle. This bike previously appeared in Japan at the Suzuka 8 Hours race, but this is the first time Kawasaki has confirmed the existence of this electric bike.

In terms of design, the Kawasaki EV closely resembles the nakedbike model Z400. However, the electric motor has a more streamlined design compared to the internal combustion engine of the Z400.

Masaya Tsuruno, CEO of Kawasaki Europe, stated that the Kawasaki EV is a concept bike and is only being showcased at Intermot. This will serve as a basis for the development of an electric bike in the future.

Kawasaki emphasizes that they will continue to work with internal combustion engine machines, but they are also considering options related to electronic fuels (E-fuel) and biofuels. In addition, Kawasaki is also considering hydrogen engines.

Previously, Kawasaki Motors Chairman Hiroshi Ito pledged that the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer will introduce at least 3 electric bike models globally in 2022.

Kawasaki EV features a design similar to Z400.

In Vietnam, the Kawasaki brand currently only distributes motorcycles with engine capacities of 175cc and above, which means riders must have an A2 driver’s license. Most recently, Kawasaki introduced the Z H2 naked bike model, which is considered a compelling option in the premium naked bike segment alongside the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S.
