The 2024 Kia Morning (also known as the Picanto) has recently been introduced to the Australian market in two versions: Sport and GT-Line. The car comes equipped with a standard 1.2L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, delivering a maximum power output of 83 horsepower.

Despite being just an upgrade, Kia has made a lot of effort to refresh the Morning to the point where you might think this is a completely new model. The Korean carmaker’s Opposites United design philosophy is clearly showcased immediately with the significantly upgraded front end including a new grille, vertically stacked headlamps that are connected to each other by a LED strip running above the tiger-nose grille, and prominent front bumper.

The Sport version is the base model, while the GT-Line is the top-of-the-line model. The GT-Line stands out with its 16-inch wheels, upgraded headlights and taillights, and a new glossy black diffuser.

Both versions are equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.2L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, which can be paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. This engine produces a maximum power of 83 horsepower and a peak torque of 122 Nm.

Inside the cabin, the car also receives notable upgrades. Both the Sport and GT-Line versions are equipped with a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a new premium synthetic leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear lever, rear USB Type-C charging port, and an 8-inch infotainment display.

The 2024 Kia Morning is equipped with standout safety features such as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, and Lane Keeping Assist. Furthermore, the car offers 7 different exterior paint colors, including the new Adventurous Green option.

In the Australian market, the price of the car starts from $12,140.
