Toyota has officially introduced the all-new 2025 Camry model in the US market with many worthwhile upgrades. First and foremost, this D-segment sedan will only use a hybrid powertrain with front-wheel drive and AWD.

The hybrid powertrain on the 2025 Camry combines a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine with two electric motors. The front-wheel drive version of this powertrain produces a combined power output of 225 horsepower, while the all-wheel drive version produces a combined power output of 232 horsepower.

Toyota has not revealed the performance of the new engine, but the Japanese automaker has stated that the hybrid system has been adjusted to reduce the engine’s RPM, thereby minimizing the annoying noises typically found in Toyota and Lexus hybrids due to their continuously variable transmissions.

Toyota does not mention whether the V6 engine with 301 horsepower from the predecessor will be retained in the new generation, but it is likely that Toyota will remove this engine in the 2025 Camry. Earlier, Toyota stated that the version with a 3.5L engine accounted for 7% of Camry’s sales. Furthermore, there is another legitimate reason for removing the V6 engine, which is to create a real differentiation between the Camry and the more expensive Crown, which also only has a 4-cylinder engine.

In terms of exterior design, there were initial doubts about whether the 2025 Camry would take design cues from the new Crown. The teaser image even seemed to suggest that the new generation Camry could have increased ground clearance and more muscular wheel arches.

However, in reality, the popular sedan in the US still applies traditional sedan styling with unchanged ground clearance, separate trunk lid, and no wheel arch cladding.

Nevertheless, the design of the 2025 Camry will undoubtedly be influenced by the Crown. This is reflected in the front fascia as well as the interior, which is not directly taken from the Crown but has an uncanny resemblance. All versions feature keyless start, dual-zone automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, advanced safety systems with blind spot monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

While the LE and SE variants come with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen, the XLE and XSE variants are upgraded to two 12.3-inch screens.

The SE variant showcases a sporty style with aluminum pedals, paddle shifters, black honeycomb grille and body-colored aerodynamic kit, rear diffuser, dual exhaust pipes, and black Camry badges along with a firmer suspension setup. Meanwhile, the XSE variant gets further upgrades with 19-inch wheels (increased from 18 inches) and leather seats with heating, along with laminated glass, interior ambient lighting, and a smart key.

The 2025 Camry will be available at Toyota dealerships in the US in early 2024 with pricing yet to be announced. However, with the standard hybrid powertrain, it is highly likely that the Camry 2025 will be adjusted to increase the price compared to the predecessor, which had a starting price of $26,420 for the gasoline version, while the 2024 Camry Hybrid had a starting price of $28,855.
