Shortly after the unveiling of the Swift Concept model at the Japan Mobility Show 2023, Suzuki introduced the production version of this small hatchback before officially launching it in the Japanese market. In this upgrade, the Suzuki Swift has been upgraded both in its interior and exterior, along with a new mild-hybrid powertrain.

As predicted, the new Swift looks exactly like the concept version. Even the alloy wheels, exterior and interior details, and colors are identical to the prototype displayed in Tokyo just a few weeks ago.

The car features square LED headlights, a fish-inspired grille, and embossed lines on the sides. One notable difference from the previous generation is that the door handles have returned to a more traditional design.

Meanwhile, the electrified versions are distinguished by chrome trim on the grille and a hybrid emblem on the front fender. The exterior color palette includes 9 color options, with 4 two-tone options.

In terms of dimensions, the 2024 Suzuki Swift has almost the same measurements as the previous generation. The length, width, and height of the car are 3,860 x 1,695 x 1,500 (mm) respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,450 mm.

Inside, the dashboard has been redesigned, featuring a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display. There is no digital instrument cluster, instead, there is a small screen placed between two analog gauges, similar to the design on the previous generation.

Other notable highlights include the new air conditioning control buttons, similar to other Suzuki models, and several USB charging ports. Furthermore, the electronic parking brake, with the Auto-hold feature, is now available on the 2024 Suzuki Swift.

In terms of safety features, the new generation Suzuki Swift 2024 is equipped with millimeter-wave radar, a single-eye camera, and ultrasonic sensors, which improve the effectiveness of the ADAS system. The ADAS package includes the Dual Sensor Brake Support II system, which detects cars, bicycles, motorcycles, and pedestrians more effectively.

In addition, the car is equipped with a 360 camera, blind-spot monitoring system, and rear cross-traffic alert.

In Japan, the 2024 Suzuki Swift is available in 3 versions: XG, Hybrid MX, and Hybrid MZ. The base version is equipped with a gasoline engine, while the mid-range and high-end versions come with a mild hybrid system. Suzuki has not yet released the technical specifications, but they have stated that the new 1.2L 3-cylinder Z12E engine will be fuel-efficient and provide high torque at low revs.

All versions of the 2024 Suzuki Swift in Japan come standard with the new CVT automatic transmission, which is said to be lighter, smoother, and more efficient than the previous version. Power is transmitted to the front wheels or all four wheels through the optional full-time 4WD system.

The price of the 2024 Suzuki Swift has yet to be announced.
